Okay... Enough people have been having trouble with their headsets that I am starting this thread to gather the important information together. We can send a link to this to people and help them (hopefully).

This is what I did, per the FAQ in the infrastructure area of the game, and people on the sony boards...

You need to go into your router and forward certain ports. I dont know what router you have, but in my Linksys Router, I go to 'Application & Games'... And then to 'Port Range Forwarding'. (Do not use Port Triggering)

First you tell your PSP that it needs to have a static IP... Then you need to make sure that IP is in the range your router uses. For example.. I told my PSP that is is xxx.xxx.xxx.17 My DHCP settings in my router are set to start at xxx.xxx.xxx.10. If I would have told my PSP that it was xxx.xxx.xxx.10, if someone has a computer on using DHCP, the first IP DHCP puts out will be xxx.xxx.xxx.10. If I turn my PSP on, it conflicts. So make sure you tell your PSP to use a number higher than the max number of computers that will be on your network.

The PSP needs a static IP because you have to forward your ports to that address. If you dont have a static Ip, next time you use it, it may end up with a different one and cause it not to work.

This is the configuration I am using in my port forwarding tables:

Type - Start - End - IP Address
UDP - 10070 - 10080 - (your PSP's IP address)
IP - 10070 - 10080 - (your PSP's IP address)
UDP - 6000 - 7000 - (your PSP's IP address)
UDP - 50000 - 50000 - (your PSP's IP address)

That's all I did and it works great. One thing I noticed is that the mic doesnt always work... sometimes it sorta works... Usually it does, but you never know. So just try a few different rooms to be sure.

If it only works in the lobby and not in the actual game, then this is probably what needs to be done.

Also, make sure your mic is plugged into the remote and everything is connected before you go into the lobby.

Well if it just doesnt work... Then you should open those ports up in your router...

I would suggest maybe starting a "Help me configure my router" thread for your specific one... Or maybe contact the manufacturer for help.... Or check out the on-line documentation for your router...

I dont have that one, otherwise I would try to walk you through it.
