If and when Sony is able to manufacture a larger capacity UMD, will the PSP be able to support it?
Has Sony ever said anything about larger capacity UMDs? +

theres a possibility of Dual-layered UMDs in the horizon, not sure if the PSP would support it. Then the next generation UMDs will use blu-ray, meaning maybe about 20gb a UMD next generation?

can u say nex gen psp, seriously so many things can be done with a nexgen psp by next christmas
+
Dual-layered UMDs could theoretically be produced tomorrow and be PSP compatible surely?
Dual-layered DVDs to my recollection never required any hardware upgrades did they?

dual-layer UMDs already exist, most of my UMD movies are dual layered, read the warning on the back covers, it says warning dual layer may cause slight transition. This warning is on the kill bill umds volume 1 and 2.

Oh... Well there you go.

So why don't sony game devolopers make games with more content im sure we peole wouldn't midn paying a little bit extra if they got a little bit extra in return.

well i think that case for the umd in the psp is kinda holding back the psp for larger capacity umds. but thats why psp movies that are 2 and half hours long are more expensive due to the fact that its dual-layered so i cant imagine how game makers make games and only have 1.8gb's thats about one eigth the size of a ps2 capacity disk. But the ps3 blue -ray will be the ulitmate capacity at 20gbs standard AND A 54gb dual layerd disk so anythings possible.

Exactly what I was going to say. Most games only use 500-600 megs. There would be no point in bigger UMD's

it aint only 500 600mb theyre using im shure

When Blu-ray is released, 50gb is going to be the standard size. 25gb is too small and will not be supported when blu-ray is released.

blue ray may be too power consuming for the PSP battery to handle. We gotta sort the battery out before anything.
