actually before the psp launched, there was talk of sony or a 3rd party making a GPS system for the psp. Just at the moment, sony is focusing all efforts on the PS3. Probably within the next 6-8 mo. you should see one (thats just a guess, dont hold me to it)

There's already a tiny GPS receiver (marketed by Microsoft) that plugs into a laptop's USB port. All that's required is a $3 USB adapter to make it fit and some software. Then you'll have a PSP-powered GPS that is about the same price as a normal handheld GPS unit, but only about 50% as good.
Besides, as you wander the pleasant forest trails with your PSP-GPS, the pine needles would scratch the PSP's delicate screen.

wut the point of gps anyway u don t no where u r in ur own town its pointless maybe if u like to go hiking or something

theres this map of the us that you could put on yur psp. every state is a different pic. I forgot the site.

Like GPS? That would be cool, except a ton of new stuff would have to be installed into your PSP.
+
Maps would be high detailed maps that you could zoom down to street level... Everything pulled from the UMD, just like car DVD nav systems. I really want this bad as I travel a lot. Imagine this.... grid lock as far as you can see... Well just get off at the next exit and use the PSP GPS to get around the traffic jam. Find your way back to base camp. There's all kinds of cool stuff you could do.. Geocaching even. How about a Geocaching game for the PSP? Pretty dope.

Any of you see something new about the GPS, i would like to have it in my card.
+
I think having it on a card would take up to much space. But that would definitly be a great idea for travelers of the open road.
+
To have all the maps on a UMD then copy over the one you need to the MS, will be perfect.
and also leave the GPS unit in the car or boat,To be hones i think the PSP will work perfect as navigator even in a boat.

It's really too bad Sony didn't put bluetooth on this thing. Lots of bluetooth gps receivers out there.

who even came close to understanding what this guy said? We can only use GPS in our home towns now? Is this part of the patriot act?
Try to compose yourself a little bit. It's so horrible they way you people carry on in the Internet. You should be ashamed.
