You can set the SSID in your Network settings on your PSP. When it asks you to choose Ad Hoc or Infrastructure, select Infrastructure. Then you'll be able to enter your SSID. You can also use the Scan option to find available SSIDs in your area.

SSIDs identify Wireless Access Points in your area. SSID stands for Service Station Identifier.
