| Summary: Simple yet effective

The USB Power Cable is a simple charging alternative to the AC Adaptor that comes included with your PSP. Rather than having to plug into a wall, you can simply plug the USB Power Cable into your laptop's powered USB port and the PSP's power port.
Usage couldn't possibly be any simpler, you simply plug the cable into the PSP and USB host and you're ready to charge. You will have to have your PSP off or in sleep mode in order to charge. Generally I found charge time to be in the area of 2-3 hours on a totally drained battery. This is comparable to the AC Adaptor.
The instructions on the back of the packaging instruct you to first turn off the PSP and PC before plugging them in. In practice I didn't find it necessary to turn off my computer.
Overall I find the USB Power Cable to be an essential item, especially since I do a fair bit of travelling. Using a USB port rather than AC plug allows me to not have to carry around another plug converter, plus I can leave the AC Adaptor at home. Even if you don't travel much, you may it convenient to charge through a USB port rather than wasting a wall plug. Simple yet effective.

It's worth noting that the full charge time is considerably longer using the USB charger but it's still an excellent item.

I the US is just getting the value pack, of which this is not a part. It's _very_ cheap though and well worth getting.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone makes something similar to the ipod battery pack thing for the PSP. Check it out here link and here link
that way we won't need a laptop to recharge just a few batteries.
