After reading many reviews on this site, it seems apparent that quite a few of the lower scores for this game have come from the writer lacking any participation in a multiplayer game. In my opinion, the multiplayer aspect of UL is what makes the game great.
This game has gorgeous graphics, awesome effects, a extensive yet simple leveling system, cool environments/enemies, and tons of items! Now for the record, the plot is weak, many of the characters/items are generic, and leveling system is simple, but isn't that what you expect from a hack n slash RPG?
If I wanted a complicated RPG with a wide learning curve, I would go play D&D. The beauty of this game is it's simplicity, which allows 4 players to instantly link up, and level up together! Trading items is a breeze, and the money dividing system is a nice touch.
Honestly before making a full review, I recommend that everyone try the multiplayer experience with at leat one friend. It is a ton of fun!
Yeah, untold legends is one of the many games for the psp i really liked. both multiplayer or single. Sometimes it is too tedious to play but hey, makes my time fly faster.
me either. and even though it is only ad hoc, you can still play online with someone 1000 miles away if you want to. just google the software.. stuff like Xlink kai.

Good point. I only just learned of the PSP tunneling software today. Good stuff!
While I enjoyed this game in multiplayer mode, what killed it for me was how insuffrably dull it got in single player. Hopefully they'll do a V2 (like Metal Gear Acid) that will fix the problems. Or, Midway could just release a Gauntlet game....I'd prefer that over Untold Legends X.
I disagree. On the contrary, this game is OVERRATED. I played this game with my friend, who thinks this game is absolutely boring, and it was not much different from single player. You can't attack other players, which could have provided for some fun PvP action. In fact, there is no interaction between your characters, except trading.
Multiplayer is too similar to singleplayer, so if you don't like singleplayer, then don't expect too much. BUT if you do like this game's singleplayer, then try multiplayer (if you can find a friend who has a copy of this game).
It's a boring game that has some mildly interesting elements. Maybe multiplayer is one of them but I've yet to find anyone excited enough to want to try it with me. Sony made a load of money on this game because it's the only D&D style RPG out there. Now let's see them do a Version 2 and do it right.

Apparently you never leveled up high enough to get spells that effect you and your teamates. That rocks, and is definitly considered "interacting" with your players.

I can't stand the single player. But ever since I started playing multiplayer, the game has become fun. The concept is the same in multiplayer, but the gameplay is much more strategic and interesting.
