Looking at the box, I thought these things looked cheap and were a waste of money. Taking a look at the back showed a graph of how they compared to other headphones, it kind of made me want to buy them. Purchasing them ( $29.99 ), I tried them out. The first thing I noticed is that the audio jack it uses is made only for the PSP (Possibly getting power from PSP). The company recommends that you do not use the equalizer from the PSP because it could damage the headphones. The sound difference between the Sony PSP headphones and these are quite noticeable. You do get better bass and less ambient noise. Lastly, the way they stay on your ears make them feel like suction cups. I do recommend these if you like bass, but you do sacrifice use of the PSP controller and these headphones are only for the PSP.

Pros
• Improved Bass
• Matches PSP’s black exterior
• Reduces ambient noise
• Cheap Price
Cons
• No use of the PSP’s Controller
• PSP Only
• Only two types of Rubber Tips
• E.Q. can damage headphones
• You get electrical interference from the PSP

you can't use it with anything other PSP? and it's made for the PSP but can't plug into the PSP remote?
crap.
i suggest that you buy a REAL pair of headphones. there are better alternatives even at $30.

How could they possibly be PSP only? It uses a standard minijack connector. Unless they stuck a lump of plastic into the controller port (which wouls be a VERY, VERY stupid thing to do, as it would stop you using the controller, and be a BIG minus for anyone buying them).

And if the EQ can damage the headphones, then they must have the worlds most badly made drivers. Even £1 headphones from a market stall can be driven by pretty much anything under a large guitar/loudspeaker amp and survive. If a simple EQ change damages these, then I sugget everyone steers WELL clear.

Go for some MDR-EX71/81s if your on a budget, or some E2C/E3Cs if you want a really good set of in-ear monitors.

Some people are under the impression the PSP requires a special jack because of the headphone remote control that comes in the value pack which plugs into the minijack AND the square control port which is right next to it. They don't realize that the remote part is optional.

For that matter, does any third party make a different remote that supports this PSP feature? Are there other uses for that port in the future?

no guys there is 3 different styles, one for universal usage(any 3.5m jack) and another for apple ipods, and another for the psp( has the 3.5m jack and that other piece kinda like the remote connection. the eq is awesome too, its not gonna destroy the earphones, it will make itsound better, but like any earphone if you have a amplifer or sound procesor go to loud, the sound will be kinda distorted, so far i am very pleased with them. i have no omplaits at all. they have others coming out on Headbangeraudio.com in the near future.

I think the following is fully deserving of all-caps;

ALL THREE USE THE SAME STANDARD CONNECTOR!!!

Also, if they distort at higher volume, they are badly made. Buy better headphones instead of the el-cheapo variants.
