For the purpose of this review, I am going to compare these products with the items of the same use that are packed with any Apple iPod, those being the iPod Remote and iPod in ear earphones.
Earphones: I personally see no real quality difference between the two earphone's sound quality for simple gaming these headphones are more than good enough, and when using headphone I have found you hear thing you don’t normally hear with the PSP's speakers. For being pack in earphones they are of descent quality but if I bought a Standard Pack (Non value) I would not have purchased the headphones because I can pick up better quality phones for simply use another pair (like my Apple earphones). It is also quite obvious PSP is trying to get into the iPod market with having a white pair of earphones and I personally would have loved a black par as I don't think the white goes with the shiny black console.
Now onto the remote, These are a GREAT item for listening to music when you have your PSP in your pocket/backpack but can be very clumsy when you are playing a game, as most button on this are rendered useless and the remote just gets in the way (It could have been cool if you could browse in game soundtracks with the remote tho). Also similar in design to Apple's offering the remote is of about the same usefulness when listening to music on either system tho in this case Apples Remote is of much better build quality where the PSP Remote feels like cheap plastic and it will break if you press a button too hard. Yet another I team that should have been black but Sony decided to borrow the iPod's colour scheme.
Over all these are descent items but could have been of better build quality in my opinion and would have matched/looked better if they were in black and not white.
