I purchased Hot Shots Golf a few days ago and have been thoroughly enjoying the experience. The game is easy to pick up and suitable for all ages. The graphics are fun and the gameplay is fast. Load times are almost non-existant. By far the shortest load times of any PSP game Ive played to date.

Keep in mind this is an "Arcade" style golf game. So its cutsey, fun, and not very detailed in terms of golf mechanics. That means the game is easy to pick up and play with a very short learning curve. There are more detailed controls available (such as putting spin on the ball) but they are not required.

I definitely recommend this game to any casual golf fan. For the more hardcore golfers, check out the Tiger Woods game.

I'd just like to mention the crippled multiplayer functionality this game has, the ONLY way to play multiplayer is through the wireless coneciton, there's no way to play this game with 2 or more players with only one PSP. I know I wouldn't have gotten this game had I known that before hand because that was one of the main reasons I bought it, it is a good game otherwise.

Good point. I hadnt thought to try and play that way yet. It makes sense you should be able to, very disappointing.

but is the wireless any good, does it lag , does it connect fast, and is it even fun. any good multi player modes?

I hate golf but for some reason this game looks entertaining hows the replay value on it? There any unlockables and can you make your own character? Ive been looking at this and Dynasty warriors what would u suggest i get? Is dynasty warriors online at all either?

The replay value of Hot Shots Golf seems pretty high. Unfortunately, unlockables are limited to clothing, hair styles (I'm reminded of "flair" from Office Space) and golf clubs until you get players from tournaments. You can't make your own character, but you can tailor hair color, styles, and clothing to your tastes.

I'm starting to wonder if the game adapts to your playing ability? I've noticed that opponents seem to play poorly when you do, but also make some extraordinary 30-foot putts if you're playing well. I'd rather have opponents that play at a fixed skill, making the first couple of opponents a breeze to beat, but successive opponents more skilled and difficult. It's easy to get a "Narrow Win" or "Utter Defeat", but I have yet to see a "Utter Win"

I dont think that is the case, promethh. I get utter wins all the time.

Apparently, I'm not the only one who thinks a 30-foot putt is beyond belief. Gamespy uttered "There's no FREAKING way" in their review (http://ps2.gamespy.com/playstation-portable/hot-shots-golf/611290p1.html) about the occurance of extraordinary shots in HSG.

Maybe I'm too much of a "casual gamer" to warrant an utter win?

my record is a 50-foot putt, but HSG still gives me a "B" grade for it!
