Just picked up NBA Street last night. My first overall impression is that it's a really good, but not awesome street ballgame.
The mini games are pretty cool, but get boring quick. The 3 on 3 games are where the meat is, and where I will focus my gameplay. I'm guessing the lack of online gameplay compatability is from this being a first gen game. Had this had Wi-Fi Infrastructure included, I would have given it at least another 10 points.
You'll definetly enjoy the variety of players, although the teams have not been updated for the current season, so you may see a few players still on old teams. Graphics, for a handheld, are great. It's still a little hard to get a good depth of field when playing though. You may think you're under the basket, only to find when you jump for the rebound you're actually a few feet off.
Music, good but scant. I mean come on here, look at all the tracks in Ridge Racer, and then look at Street, about 1/4 or fewer tracks. Hopefully we'll be able to add more in the future, maybe?
All in all, it is a great little game, amazing for a handheld. But is it worth the extra 10 spot EA charges? Not really.

You say that the music isnt all that great.. From what i hear you can play your own music/video's in some sort of pocketplayer?

which minigame is better, and is the career mode or whatever really deep (like custimization of character and gear)

Picked this up from Walmart. They had it for $49.95 but they did a price match of $39.95 since Best Buy had it advertised on sale. Great game.

You can customize your character. The Career mode is just like Previous NBA Street games what do you expect from a story mode in a street basketball game. The main draw is building your character and multiplayer with friends. Just as was NFL Street the game can only go so far without a friend. And you can't play your own music in pocketplayer, what that is however is EA's little thing that'll just play their own music they put in the game on a repeat kinda like a playlist. Just like the EA Trax seen in all the console EA games, but now its pocketsized.

Surely this is better than NBA? I got that and reviewed it here.. too easy the game play and mini games are too short...

It's better than NBA, but not all the hype EA would lead you to believe. But again, this is a first gen game, and is pretty good for a first gener, just EA overpriced. I have a little bit of a tude towards EA, they work their people to death there (pay them a salary so they don't get overtime for there 60 hours a week they're forced to work), and overprice there games.
