I have to say this thing is not as bad as some people make it out to be but its not great either. The first thing you will notice when you buy this is the cheap plastic which seems to be a very cheap mold because mine had little plastic strings hanging off the plates edges. But its still strong enough to protect the PSP from scratches and bumps but not from any sort of drops. Installation was easy you would have to be pretty dumb not to be able to get it on. I also have a feeling they made a new version also because Ive screwed the screws on tight and it hasnt messed with my UMD opening at all. Others have said it blocks the USB hole also which mine doesnt so Im thinking pelican may have 2 versions of this case. Now for the drawbacks besides from being cheap plastic the case doesnt act as a stand which sorta sucks. Another drawback is when your flipping the case back and forth a piece of plastic in the hinge will split alittle bit which doesn't make me think the hinge plastic is that durable. Another annoying thing is after you put it on it wont fit into the psp case that came with your psp which was sorta a drawback for me since i bought it to protect the screen from sonys case.
Overall I give this Case an 80 it would easily get 100 if the hinge and face plater were a little higher quality.
There are obviously 2 versions of this product made. I have the other version which no one reviewed yet. Mine is PERFECT! I had no screw problems, (too short OR too long) and no "loose face gravity" problems. And yes, there ARE cosmetic differences that set them apart! I have a matte finish instead of the mirror finish...so no cleaning finger prints from the case as well. And my umd cases are black, not clear! Maybe you guys who are disappointed should keep your eyes open for this one!
