* The Soft Case "breathes" which allows condensation to occur.
* The Soft Case has an opening on the side allowing the system to fall out.
* The Soft Case may collect dirt which can scratch the system when it is used.
Rebuttals
Depending on which job I currently am at, I would either be working in a room that has to practically be refridgerated by air conditioning because it is full of machinery which heats up the room quickly or I am in constant movement. So, I would be at high-risk for this problem. Yet, I have never had the condensation problem...
I don't know if the second complaint is valid because I actually own the Soft Case and I always keep the PSP inside when not in use. It is a very snug fit and the only way you can make the PSP fall out of the case is if you attach a string to the end of the case without the opening and spin around with the system inside the case.
It is possible to get dirt inside... but how often are you using the PSP while holding the case in the other hand near a sandstorm, construction site or another active dirty area? The case could be placed in a dirty area which might get dirt in it but why would anybody do that?
Reality Check
The only times this case does not protect the system is if it is in your pocket and you bump into something or if you drop the system.
So, if you have really bad luck or are clumsy this case is bad for you.
Rating: 100
I don't believe in luck and I'm not clumsy.
what would be the advantage of using this over the little pink bag that is used to hold the PSP when you first take it out? the pink bag would actually protect you in a sandstorm since you would probably fold the opening back :P

I might've thrown that out but I'm pretty sure it isn't an anti-static bag. Static + Electronics = try it out and see
Igns review on this case was funny. They said you might as well use a sock but i dont think it looks that bad. I guess i will have to try it for myself
I don't live near sandstorms, yet I lost count of how many CDs I've scratched by storing them in binders that require you to slide them in. Over time, particles make their way inside and scratch what you're storing. It's fine for temporary storage, but a case that closes, like the jewel case that a CD is sold in is a better solution. The same principles apply to the already scratch-prone screen of the PSP. Not to sound elitist, but it just seems like common sense to me. Get a screen protector and protection that CLOSES.
I have heard that the soft case is not much protection against drops. If it breathes, it won't offer any protection against spills or carrying it outside on a rainy day. I will be looking for a hard shell case of some type or one that is heavily padded and fully encloses the unit and is somewhat water resistant.
I bought one, and I am very happy with it. It has actually been dropped (bumped off my desk by my accident prone wife) and it protected it very well. Im not sure what people are expecting when purchasing protection - but it doesnt fall out, the hole at the end is offset, so you genuinely have to pull the PSP out to get it out, and as for condensation I would love to see footage of this happening - it would require some very wierd conditions to happen (like PSP very cold and air not with plenty of moisture in the air). Sounds like some urban myths in their beginings...

Finally, someone that has a clue! This case is quality!
