For many owners of Sony’s PlayStation One, it was the Tekken series which defined their beloved console many years ago.
Now, Namco Bandai brings the King of the Iron Fist Tournament to the PSP in Tekken Dark Resurrection.
Dark Resurrection is at it’s roots a port of last year’s Tekken 5. Already a success, Namco Bandai was not content with just porting the same game over and instead opted to upgrade many portions of the already superb game. Two new characters have been added to the fold as well as more fighter customizations and a bevy of mini-games.
Tekken Dark Resurrection sports in game graphics that should make any PSP owner proud. Beautiful CG cut scenes extend the already deep (and fairly confusing) Tekken storyline while animated slides kick off the tale of each combatant in story mode.
In game graphics blow the first three Tekken games out of the water and reach near PS2 quality graphics as Tekken fighters do battle across 19 various stages including a penguin inhabited iceberg and a space station orbiting earth.
Dark Resurrection retains the series trademark control scheme, which maps each of the fighter’s limbs to a specific button. The result is an intuitive control layout that takes a little bit of time to get used to but works perfectly once you do.
Although a 3D fighter seems like a disaster waiting to happen on the PSP, surprisingly enough Tekken Dark Resurrection pulls off the daunting feat and leaves other PSP fighter’s in the dust.
Players with a wi-fi connection can hop online and do battle with their friends via ad-hoc or in a new feature to PSP fighting games, download a ghost fighter created by a fellow PSP user to take on. Players can record their own ghost and upload it to the Tekken servers so other players can also directly download these spectral foes. Players without a wi-fi connection need not worry as collections of ghosts are popping up online for download already.
Tekken’s second foray into portable waters (2002 saw the release of Tekken Advance for the GBA) is proving to be quite the critical success, but only time will tell if it can be the financial success that the PSP so desperately needs at this point.
what point were you trying to get across? that everything isnt perfect? im usre a 4 year old knows that. no offense, but it seemed like youre just mindlessly defending the psp.
im not saying its a bad system, but i am pointing out its flaws

so i guess you did get the point.and i never said you said it was bad. and how am i mindlessly defending the psp? nobody cares that you think the buttons are to far apart. the buttons are fine to other people. stop the bi*ching and just injoy the game. everything has flaws so we dont need to hear every little thing that is wrong with it, if it is not a problem for everybody.
Perhaps if you had bigger thumbs, you could cover the face of your psp with them? You certaintly could jam them in your eye sockets and blot out the whole problem. I think Sony did a remarkeable job with the PSP design. The longer I own it, the more I see the practicallity and insight that went into the size and shape. They crammed a remarkeable amount of device into a small space with a beautiful screen. Until we're able to all have our hands surgically altered to be identical, there will always be problems with size:P. Personally, I'm REALLY glad Sony had the insight and guts to create this system. The only other company *I* can think of that could have done it is Nintendo..and they didn't. The competition that exists between the two systems is good for everyone. Better games, better prices and more variety. Viva la difference! Woot!
lol, my thumbs are actually normal size(imo i guess.... ...) and i dont want em to be bigger, huge thumbs inst a fad... and if it is im not following it(joking).
i love the psp design, just not a fan of the direc buttons, and the fingerprinting. the design is awsome though, and when its clean the psp looks sexy. but after a few mins of gaming the sexy is gone tiill the next thorough cleaning
and i do enjoy the game, hence why i own it and PLAY it. i can aslo state my thoughts and complaints, we cant be all positive on everything.
swhite, finding problems and fixing them is what makes the world better. lets all be governed by kings who dictate everything like we were 1000 years ago! its a problem, but its not that bad! this is almost a forum type of place, and discussions about some things is what people do. but whenever somebody says anything bad about sony you get in their face, its like youre sony's sexslave and hearing any of their systems get slightly critisized makes you wanna kill that person
I agree Kage, you need the negative with the positive. How you go about presenting the negative is important though, if you want people to actually learn anything.
Peace.
sony's sexslave- you are taking it to far but whatever. i like sony i am not there #1 fan. i just think the ps3 and psp are great systems, but it seem like people are dogging them because of the prices of there system. i only bash if they bash with out a point.
i bashed without a point? i said that the direc buttons arent that good on the psp, and are extremely hard to pull of diagonals with, especially in a game like tekken where you already need percise timing, thats not even bashing, thats adressing something, and that something is true, psp + diagonals on direc buttons = fail more than half the time
i dont always bash others(or you). i only bash if they bash with out a good point or just because they hate sony for some reason. you make it sound like i just pick fights with people that dont like the psp or ps3. and that is not true.
from my experiences you do. somebody says 'im getting bored of my psp" (which they did on wii411 i belive) and you made a post quoting them saying 'you had to add that part in" (because that comment they made was at the very end of their post)
Ok gentlemen.. back to your corners. Swhite.. is that you SNOW? How're the dwarves doing? Grumpy still got an attitude problem?
Guys.. if you wanna have this discussion, do it in private messages. That way the forums are actually about what they SAY they're about, and not about which one of you gets to post last. Mmm K?

thats was on the ps3 site. and that was because it was monkey. if you didnt know monkey was a ps3 basher that just about everybody had a problem with on the site. i only seen him on the new site about once so far but, in the start of the week he should be back up to his old ways. like i thought ......you dont even know what they said or even read what they said before i answer back to them.
