This is a great little piece of plastic and silicon. With this Memory Stick you can hundreds of songs and hours of video. Plus, Mac OS X can see it just fine! I got a great deal on it in an eBay auction for $41 dollars plus $9 shipping from China. It took two weeks to get here, but I can say it was worth the wait.
The first thing I did when I received this memory stick (after adding the included adapter to my growing pile of them) was to put it in the PSP and plug into my Powerbook. With the strange problem I had with the laptop not seeing the 4GB stick I was worried that it would have trouble with this one as well. There were no problems at all. I quickly restored my game saves to it and put on some songs, movies, and photos to boot. This will replace my 1GB stick as my standard everyday one.
My music files are quite large. I use 256 kbps AAC files for better sound quality, so the files run about 2 megs per minute of music. With a stick this size that is still quite a lot of music to take along day to day. It would be nice if Sony would add support for the Apple Lossless format (or any other lossless compression) so we could get true CD quality sound, but I won’t hold my breath on that one. If they do it, this stick would be great to have around for those massive song files.
My movies are also quite large, but with this memory stick I can carry hours of high quality movie files. My copy of Saving Private Ryan won’t fit on a 1GB stick but this one leaves room to spare.
This stick will also hold hundreds of photos. I like taking photos with my Sony camera and then putting the stick straight into the PSP for viewing on its nice screen.
I did some speed tests to see how its transfer speeds were. It is pretty fast. I transferred my standard test folder over three times and it took about 1 minute and 45 seconds to copy over the 437 Meg folder. That is the same speed I get from my 1GB sticks and fifteen seconds FASTER than I get with Sony’s High Speed 4GB stick. I don’t know how long it would take to fill it though, because when I do a normal sync I just start it and go do something else until it finishes. I can’t imagine that anyone would be disappointed in the nice speed of this stick.
This is a very nice Memory Stick. It’s reasonably quick. It works with any device that uses the Memory Stick Pro Duo stick. It’s not very expensive, especially if you can get a good deal on eBay. I highly recommend it.

Just be very careful who you get it from. Make sure the seller has a high positive rating with at least 100 responses. The seller that I purchased mine from had a feedback score of over 3460 with a 99.5% positive rating. The seller that I got my 4GB stick rating has a rating of 24602 with 98.5% positive responses.
haven't seen a fake transparent one yet, guess you could see the chip and the glue...
go for a sandisk ultra II or sony high speed, much faster file transfer
although this one goes pretty cheap now...
I would reccomend the Sony High Speed 2gb card, a little more expensive, but well worth it! Very quick, I was able to move 4 full size movies at the highest setting via Sony Media Manager in a little over 30 minutes!
Although today I did something stupid and exchanged my PSP (it kept restarting in japanese) and forgot to remove my MS, I called em about an hour ago but they were closed and said It may be too late to get it back, but tomorrow at 10 Im going into best buy to give it a shot, that damn thing cost me 130$ (before the 4/8gb were announced) and has all my songs/movies/games on it >.<
a little over 30 minutes??? I transfer a 1,5 gig iso in 3 to 4 minutes from pc to psp (sony highspeed). try a 2.0 usb port... (if you get it back that is.. hope so!)
is this size memory necessary???? i mean is it easy to fill 2 gigs with all the music, pictures, flash stuff, and emulaters and all that junk??? or would 1 gig do the job? cause im deciding which one to get. HELP
