Summary: Tekken is the Truth

This game is defintely in my top 5 PSP games. I've playing Tekken since Tekken 2 in the arcade. The reason I bought the original Playstation was to play tekken at home. I've spent crazy late night hours playing tekken against friends. In short, I'm a big fan of the franchise.

Pros
Graphics are on par with the PS2. It is a nice visual experience and load times are minimal. It also has a nice set of game modes like Arcade, Story, and Dojo (tournaments) all the fighters are avaliable immediately. The slow motion replay with the great sound is still there to gloat (when you win) and to analyze your mistakes (when you lose). You can skip the replay with a touch of the select button. This game also has GAME SHARING which means 2 people can go head to head with only one copy of the game. More games should have this feature.

Cons
No infrastructure, only adhoc. Boo. Fighting online would have been lovely. As any Tekken fan knows that playing computer is cool but Tekken truly shines when you are fighter a real person. The controls are mapped pretty much like the games on the PS2 , the only problem is that the PS2 controller was made for comfort the PSP was not. Taking away the unlocking of the characters took some fun out of it. On the PS2, one of the rituals one does is unlock the characters. A game this instense might get your PSP dirtier quicker. After a few hours of play my PSP looked like a dirty little gaming device. Finger smudges everywhere. But it cleans up fine.

The Ugly
My fingers got sore at first, but it's better now.

Conclusion
Great little PSP game at a nice price (39.99USD). It's the best (only?) 3D fighting game on the PSP. Hopefully we can get infra on the next version.

1. not onluy fighting game if you include imports. and if you include those, it has a high run for its money.

anyway i got this game. only problem is, those f***ing moves where you needa press up and forward at the same time(or etc, forgot the name ofr those) are like so hard to do. i mess up more than half the time, i actually ignore them in the game now. its seriously the worst control for any game ever!

but its still a fun game

use the analog stick... it's more like the arcade and it isn't hard at all.
