I was so eager to buy this game when I first heard about it. I've always liked the premise behind Mega Man. From the original tv show to this new remake, I've always loved the lil blue bomber.
Playability - 85
A very simple gameplay setup that easily works. Although, I must say, the game is surprisingly difficult. The levels are pretty easy, but the boss fights do take a while to finally master. I was disappointed to see that you couldn't fight with the bosses after you have beat them. But it was only a minor loss. [85]
Load Times - 95
About 5 second load times going to levels and going back. And about a 1 second load time between rooms. So no loss there. [95]
Graphics - 95
Definitely the highlight of the game. I remember playing the original game on my cousin's SNES ages ago, but once I laid my eyes on this remake, the graphics took me by surprise. Everything has been reworked into a 3D side scroller, and I must say, it looks fantastic. [95]
Sound - 80
The sound is basically the same as the original. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The music fits, the sound effects are the same so basically no improvement there. [80]
Overall Value - 90
Since after you beat X mode on the game, you unlock a new Vile Mode and an animated 30 minute 'movie' called the Day of Sigma. The Vile mode is basically the same as X mode, but what I liked was the customization in Vile's weapons, instead of scrolling through. The 30 minute movie basically retells what happens before you start the game. So overall, for about $30, it is worth the price. [90]
