| Summary: Excellent program, high price
85
This media manager should have definitely been included with the PSP hardware, as $30 is a high price tag for such a simple program.
However, the program itself is great, and putting all your files on your PSP becomes a breeze. One thing though, if you can already put files in their right folders without any programs, I would advise not buying this because there are no new features here. Still, Sony PSP Media Manager is a very fine looking and feeling program. It allows you to drag and drop your files right onto your card, and comes with a six foot USB cable.
Overall, a great program. Definitely not needed for most, but easy and excellent looking.

What's so hard about creating folders and dragging files? If this program doesn't have any other significant features, I can't see a reason why anyone would buy this.
I really don't mean to sound cheap. But, it seems to me that Sony is keep making some weird choices as far as supporting PSP is concerned...
They should really concentrate to have keyboard for PSP and have some kind of online store feature.
And let go of the deathgrip they have on controlling PSP's potential capabilities.

I actually purchased the PSP media manager, and I have to say I am not impressed. First off it doesn?t support any video files that I have found yet. The music support is lame, not even Sony's atrac3. So far every time I open it to try and see if it will work, I end up closing it. Damn I wish I wouldn?t have spent the $20. I could have bought another UMD movie.

Just thought I`d point out that the psp won't play just any kind of video.

xj900, So your the one still buying UMD's!? Call me crazy but I'd rather rip a movie from the dvd, save it in my computer, and swap it on and off my memory card whenever I want. In addition there are devices like the Fotochute link that will let you travel with alot of content with no need for a computer. Probably a cheaper option for you than buying UMD's. And by the way watching video off the memory card uses alot less battery life.

Not really, I found that Sony Image Converter 2 is an excellent program for converting movies and pictures. It actually supports most of the stuff I download.
However, I will buy cheap under $9 used UMD videos, if it’s a movie that I haven’t seen, and if it has subtitles.
My complaint regarding downloaded video is that there are no subtitled movies available online. And ripping my own video, it just takes way to long.
Subtitles are a big deal to me, so I want the option for all my movies.
I watch a lot of foreign movies too, so it helps to read the words as I can’t read Japanese, mandarin, or Spanish.
Its all about the price and the Playstation Media Manager is a complete waste of money.
The Sony Image Converter 2 is not bad for an alternative Sony application.
