Anyone new to the Metal gear stories (people like me) will be delightfully pleased with the presentation and depth in story this Digital comic novel has to offer. If you already have been a fan of this series you'll enjoy it anyway. The style, of the story telling and and brief animations, much to my amazement actually worked for my overall impression of the novel.
Features
The one feature that will take you further into the world of Metal Gear is something known as Memory Building. Throughout the game, you will "gather" pictures of the characters in the comic such as Gray Fox, Ocelot, Otacon (cool name just found out it was short for Otaku Convention), Colonel Campbell, and Meryl to name a few. When you collect these memory building pictures it attaches a history profile or a brief description of the character.
Another feature they have is a Zoom in and out feature, and although it doesn't sound too exciting looking at the pictures up close you'll find a secret watermark on some of the pictures if you look closer (i won't reveal it for you to find out)
Replayabilty
This may not be a game, but it's always nice to go back into something you looked at once and find out there was something you missed. There is 271 pages worth of art and dialogue story telling and I don't know how often you would replay a game to see what you missed, but you are more likely to go back to something you saw or read.
Conclusion
Like I said in the summary if you are not a fan of the series yet, this might be a story you will want to look into. Especially, with a loose end at the end of the novel. Deception and lies is a main part of the story and the end of the novel kind of jumps at you and makes you want to know what happened next.
I honestly have no qualms about this novel and there are no rave reviews for this game and there is not alot to rave on about reading dialogue bubbles. But if your looking for something to read for the summer (well at least something to keep you busy on vacation or travel) and you really don't wanna move your fingers around much on the PSP, you might want to give this a look. For what it's worth, if you like reading comics and enjoy a good story this is a must-buy and have.
I gave this a 90 for awesome animations and audio-visual presentation. Story was short and I wished there was more to it.
it is basicly the ps1 metal gear story on your psp! its a graphic novel with occasional animations, bgm & sound effects....so for me this is way better than a regular graphic novel. if you dont like comics or metal gear then dont get it...its that simple! i dont know why people bother to post bs about this when they are clueless....you know who you are!
