When I first heard that Monster Hunter was coming out for the PSP I was exited, I thought it would be a great game to have on the go.
It does have a steep learning curve and the game itself does take alot of time just to get everything you need to fight one of the wyverns, and the first monster that will really attack you back will be a pain unless you have gotten your armor all to a good defense and your wepon to a higher level, but none the less it is a very addicting game.
I love it but somtimes it gets on my nerves when you get stuck on a quest. I like how they have th farm in the game, that made the game a little easier so you didn't have to go out and fight the monsters just to get ore or a sap plant to make bombs. I also liked the synthisising element. The only other problems I had was when you attack, somtimes the monster moves and you end up comboing the air.
All in all I really like the game even with its problems.
Good reveiw! I'm really lookign forward to getting this, especially after reading this. It got not-so-hot reviews on all of the "professional" sites. I think it simply appeals to only acertain type of gamer. You're probably tha kind, as am I, but it seems like all of the "important" sites are in to F/TPSs (cough, Gamespot has all of it's top ranked games in a list. All of them are rated M, and involve guns and guts at some point or another. cough)
i use the great sword for like everything. i tried every singgle weapon out and the great sword is most fun for me. i am 1 quest away from getting level 6 quests currently, and i beat every single quest with a great sword
