I love Batman Begins. Its one of the best super hero movies in recent years in my opinion, and gets the Batman character right. I saw this movie in the theaters twice, and when it came out on UMD, I waited for the price to go down, and finally got it. This movie is just as good as it was on the big screen on my PSP. The picture quality is amazing as well as the sound. The menu looks great as well.
However, the extras included are terrible. In fact, there are none! In the menu you get play, chapter, and languages. A nice set of extras? Hardly. Standard stuff for any DVD/UMD. For one of the biggest blockbusters of that year, this UMD should have included some making of segments, or maybe production design, or something! Anything! If you loved this movie and don't care much for extras, then go ahead an buy it since it is still an incredible movie. If the lack of features bugs you, then wait for a special edition box set on DVD or something.
PS: This is one of the priciest UMD's on the market as well. Beware!
I thought it was great, I saw it in theaters twice as well. I'd love to own it on UMD but like the review said, it's one of the priciest UMD's out there. As we've all stated before, there is absolutely NO sense in selling UMD movies for over $20, especially when they have little or no extras. And because the movie studios are so greedy and charge so much, UMD movies are pretty much dead and they blame Sony for it. Why?
Agent 808, they did a pretty good job on the origin considering all of the reboots they have done. Read Batman year one....some of the shots from Begins are taken straight from that story..especially the ending. Besides, would we really have wanted to see Bruce Wayne as an FBI agent? (Yes, he was one for 6 weeks before returning to Gotham...pretty scary)
What do you mean about the Joker? The only version where the Joker is directly involved in the death of Bruce Wayne's parents is the first Michael Keaton Batman movie. In the comics, the Joker is not directly related to Batman's origin.
Correct, Tim Burton took some liberties with the script for Batman and made the Joker be the killer of Bruce's parents. It's a complete load of BS. I thought the same thing as Agent808 when I saw Batman Begins, but some searching online revealed the truth!
