I was all hyped for this one. PSP needed an Adavance Wars clone. When I played it I was sad. It's not fun. The game is full of small annoyances that add up to me not disliking it.
The lack of interesting story.
The micro-load times whenever characters speak or units attack.
The bad enemy A.I.
The disjointed online system.
I love turn based strategy. Hell, I am playing MGS AC!D 2 right now but this game has no personality. I now see that the zany colorful graphics in a turn based game can add a lot of flavor. These graphics are bland. The innovative multiplayer is its only saving grace. With pass the PSP, AD hoc, and Infrastructure, this game gives you the multiplayer goodies. Plus it's the only way to play against a good opponent. Get this game if you like multiplayer.

Meh, they should've thought of that before releasing the game :/ Oh well, I myself don't care much for ranking anyways.
And portamind, I think you’ve got the following sentence wrong: “The game is full of small annoyances that add up to me not disliking it.”
It sounds like you don’t like the game, but you’ve written that you do not dislike it - as in you like it?
Anyhow, I can’t understand why you rate the game so high if you don’t like it. You should lower the score IMO - 70% isn’t bad at all, kind of looks like 7/10.
Doesn't matter to me. I loved advance wars. I love this even more (it's very similar only no anime baby graphics). Create your own missions. Real online play. And it all looks and plays amazing well! Had my mind made up from day one though. :-) Then again I am old and I have always preferred turn based stuff (hehe). So it's not for everyone.
Great game, like advanced wars but with more options, like laying mines, using different weapons......... and using super weapons like the EMP blast or Napalm
I like the fact that this game can be very tactical. There were at least two levels that come to mind where I "distracted" enemy troops, drawing them away from their HQ so that I could sneak in a grunt to capture it :-)
One recent level I was getting my butt kicked in just about every way and I still won. I won the round while losing one for one is just about every statistic.
It is important to keep the focus on the mission objective. Sometimes trying to destroy all enemy forces doesn't help.
Sometimes certain levels are more puzzle-like than head-to-head combat.
