As soon as I got this, it took me 10 minutes to have wifi in my own house. It's easy to setup, and very easy to use. It includes a file manager program (and an awesome video converter) with which you can transfer files to your PSP wirelessly. It's small and portable, so if you go somewhere and need wifi, just install it and plug it in. Most of the people who get this normally have problems with setting it up, due to small insignificant things. I would reccomend buying this only if you plan on using it for PSP, and for simple needs, not that reliable..
Pros
Price - 40$
Portable
Fast internet
Easy and simple to use
Great program included
Cons
Weak range - about 15 meters maximum, if you live in a house, it will reach maybe 1 floor up/down.
Can't think of any other cons.. I guess thats good?
Overall
If you don't already own a router, I definetly would reccomend you to get this if you're getting it for a PSP, and the price is great for what you get.
Hey guys a quick question. I'm kind of a noob with this stuff...can i use this @ work behind a firewall? I would love to play some FTB or FC online @ work.
I perchased the wifi max to get an easy and free internet connection on my psp I installed the disk and dongle set up a connection to it on the psp like the instruction manual said however when i tested the connection i got:
Connection name: wifi
Signal strenth: 100%
ssid: WLAN_AP
bssid: 00:0E:8E:09:0C:6E
Channel: 6
security NONE
IP Address 192.168.0.139
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Defalt router: 192.168.0.1
prmary dns: 192.168.0.1
secondary dns: 0.0.0.0
mac Address 00:01:4A:B2:8A:4A
proxy server: do not use
Internet browser: Do not start
internet connection: FAILED
ok here it is again......
first go to psp wifi max on your desktop and click it.
when it opens click on options at the bottom.
when that opens choose your internet connection hardware from the menu .
then click auto setup.....assuming you chose psp and not ds when installing it will give you a message saying it is setting things up.
after this click apply.
close everything out and go to your taskbar and wait 30 sec or so....
now try scanning for a connection from your psp.
no worries
