| Summary: A great addition!

First I would like to say that I have tried MANY different phones for my PSP/ipod and this spans the range from the PSP included headphones to Shure and Senheiser.
The sound quality here is way above average. Highs are crisp and lows are rich. Of course the reason you would be looking here is the amplified sub woofers. Ths bass really reflects the company name. You WILL feel your head thump while playing bass intensive games like Wipeout Pure and explosions in games and movies really sound richer and deeper. Some will not like the "in ear" design or may find it uncomfortable, but there is a method to this madness. The earcups provide a noise isolating effect. Outside noise doesnt get into these...even a jet engine on a flight becomes a low hum.
The negative? Well there seem to be some anomolies when the PSP is turned on, a one time pop may be heard. This is the amp being powered up, a little annoying but not bad. And the problem most people may have is that because these are "powered" headphones that power has to come from somewhere. The universal version of these has an external battery pack. These take their power from the PSP through the control jack right next to the headphone jack. This means that you can't use the PSP remote with these unless you get the uni version, and those cost 10 bucks more.
With the only downsides being a small auditory pop and lack of remote function and maybe the whole "in ear" thing, these are by far the best I have ever used for my PSP or anything else, hands down.

How much are these and where can I pick them up?
+
go to a gamestop eb games or walmart....19.95
+
whaoh that sounds like a good deal (I don't think tere are any gamestops in Canada tho...)
+
can someone explain to me what that battery thing is in the picture.(the thing that isn't a headphone) Be nice.
+
The small rectangle thing is the place where the 2 triple AA batteries go
+
but the battery pack is only for the universal version.....the psp version has no pack just a jack exactly like the one for the remote control.
+
I've been telling everyone how good these things are forever....just to lazy to review

I got these at Gamestop for 20 bucks because my family and I were going to cancun and I needed head phones that would, So posedely cancel out sound, like the sound of the jet engines on the plane. I got these on when the plane's flight attendents said that we could use our electronics. This thing is great. Not only did it cancel out the planes engines but it canceled out my brothers annoying talking. Great buy, defenetly the best psp head phones ive found for under 20$! Good buy.

i have bought these earphones...twice and both pairs have ripped, because the ear bud is so big... i love the sound, quality, and bass, but they are very sensetive
+
These are great, but they cut out ALL the time for some reason when I play music on the PSP. But it works perfectly when playing my music in Liberty city. It's weird. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
+
i havent but al i have on my psp is requiem for a dream......so it might work better
+
boo.....the treble and voices are overpowered by the tremendous bass..
+
stop using the eq on the psp and you wont have that problem

Although I agree with you that these are probably the best sounding ear buds for the psp without spending more than a hundred bucks, I must warn you, bigfred is right, and then some. These headphones are not anywhere near what you would call "durable." I've gone through about four pairs, and all have gotten shorts or the buds themselves are torn. You can trust me when I say that it is not because of misuse or bad care. I recommend these to anyone who mainly uses them at home or work, but they can be very frustrating for those on the move a lot.
