Tired of playing on the go only to have to shut down to change your batttery? Now you don't have to. This device clips into the PSP's battery compartment. It adds a bit more bulk to the back, but if you need a marathon gaming stretch without plugging in, then you need to sacrafice something.

Your standard (or extended) PSP battery pack will then clip into this device. You play your PSP till you see the charge light start to flash. Since this pack has it's own internal battery, you can take your PSP battery out and put a new one in without interrupting PSP power. Now when you are hiding in your neighbors bushes, using thier wifi to play SOCOM, you wont have to leave the game to switch batteries.

Pros: Uninterupted power at battry swap & additional battery time
Cons: Bulky, kludgy looking, could mesh with the PSP a bit better.

I love unnecessary bulky attachments. While it might throw out an extra 3-4 hours, where in hell are you ever going to be playing a game outside during the day for 8-9 hours? Probably would be useful a tad on an airplane or long trip but that would be the only reason i'd need one of these battery attachments (ie: handle chargers, huge batteries, etc)

I know someone on here that OFTEN spends hours playing on someone else's network, outside, at nite. He'd probably benifit alot from something like this!

Stuff like this makes it too hard to hold the PSP comfortably...

I used it to watch UMD movies on a couple flights I took... It was nice not having to stop the movie to swap battery.

i got one of these myself.. its actually alright. it gives an extra 4ish hours of playing. i used it on a long plane flight, as suggested above. ill also point out that it makes the psp look a little more difficult to hold, but after about 10 minutes of playing youll get so used to it that you forget its still there. the only 3 bad things i have to say about it is 1.- it makes the psp look slightly more unattractive. 2.- its kinda difficult to remove as it kinda jams or something in the back of the psp. 3.- its annoying if you own a psp soft case or hard case, cos the psp wont fit in it anymore if the battery pack is still on it. still, worth getting for the option if youve got cash to spare.

This seems silly. If you are going to add extra bulk to the back of your psp why not use a higher capacity battery that is available? I have a 4800 mah battery that lasts for a good 10 hours or more. I don't see the point of using an 1800 mah batter that is just as bulky (to half of my psp no less)

I "ended" up with this product as I would choose something sexier for my PSP. But I was at the extreme EB games one day and got a used battery for next to nothing (with coupon and such) and had a long trip where I thought I could actually use this. I blew off the dust and it worked great.

I tend to play more on AC power during my long stretches and battery for those quick lunch time games.. So battery life isnt really a concern of mine.

Exactly my point. If you are going to get an external battery get a higher capacity one. If you are ok with 1800 mAh (or even the 2200 mAh one that sony makes now) then use an internal battery that adds zero bulk. Having not tried this accessory I can't properly give it a score but I doubt I would give it a 90. (More like a 50)

You all should check out the core gamer battery/shield/grip. They are sweet. I've become a total whore to Core Gamer. I bought the case for all attachements then I bought the battery shield which is kinda like the lifting sun shield but it rotates 360 and becomes a movie stand and also has rubber grips that make the psp easier to hold/play. Finally it has a battery built in. It's nice.
