They totaly rock, my music sounds better. I notice little things in songs that I didn't hear with my Sony Studio Monitor headphones. It has great bass response, more bass then I have ever heard in a headphone. Once I turned the volume up all the way I could feel them rattle from the bass. They have one minor flaw. It might not fit well in your ears. It took awhile for me to figure out that you need to just jam them in your ear (pulling the top of the ear upwards helps) and you need to clean your ears daily. They stay in beter with clean ears and it's just healthy. Overall, I would say get them. People with extremly small ears won't fit.

well i never heard those shure ec2 but judgin by the frequency response charts they posted on their site, they dont seem to have much bass, and i also read a few review to confirm this. but these have lots of bass. my frend heard the bass on them n bought a pair shortly after. yes it need batteries . BUT they give u batteries with it, and they last very long. I have been using the same batteries that came with for 2 Months now. dont wash ue ear, just use a cotton swab and clean it so ur ears can hear better and its not gunky and oily inside ur ear canal so they dont falll out while ur head bangin to KoRn. the manual recomend that you not use the EQ on watever device you have, but i use the EQ on mine and nothing has happened so far. the black rectangle (box) is the amplifier (AMP) it holds the 2 AAA batteries. JUST GET THEM i got them of ebay for $17 the shure are at least $99 for the low end ones. they have good audio quality and tons of bass imagine hearing that explosion with bass, JUST GET THEM UR EARS WILL THANK YOU.

Okies Guys Updates. Well im on my second pair of these headbangers. My original pair finaly broke after months of daily use. That may not be good, because i have headphones which are older and work fine. However, none of them sound as good as these (they have less bass and less diffinition).

Also, my friend has a pair of the shures. Im not too sure of the modle number (ec2 or whateve, hers cost $100), but in my humble opinion, i would rather my headbangers. To me, the shures sounded great, they were a bit low, great definition, but weak on the bass and generaly lower than my headbangers. They sealed out the sound around me wonderfully, i was amazed becuase these block out sound beter then most ear plugs that i have used. My friend tried to talk to me but i couldn't hear her. They do seal out sound way beter then the headbangers, but my headbangers have way more bass, just as good definition (maybe a little bit less). To me these along with comfort and price are the selling point of headphones. About comfort, i often forget they are in my ears, i can no longer use those ear bud styled ones (like the ipods) for more than 20 mins, they hurt my ears.I must say though, the amp can be cumbersome, but they give you a belt clip, and a carabiner clip as mounting options. Currently i use the carabiner to secure it to a belt loop. And as for price, my headbangers were $25 from ebay (that is $20 for the headphones + $5 for shipping) versus $100 for the cheapest shures. Yes my headbangers are abit cheap, the build quality is no where near the quality of the shures. But, to me, my heandbangers sound beter, and for a fraction of the cost, WHY NOT GET SOMETHING THAT SOUNDS BETER???

ok wait just so were sure here...the psp versions do not have the battery box..they draw from the power link next to the headphone jack.

well yes you are correct. i have the universal unit. it has a separate battery pack that houses the 2 AAA. i rather that one because it can be used with my mp3 player, psp, computer, and any other device that accepts the common headfone plug. they have a psp specific unit and an ipod specific unit. they can only work with the psp or ipod , they tap power from the remote port (which is unique to the ipod or psp, hence the ipod unit wont work on the psp and vice versa). also the remote can not be used while the psp specific unit is used. soo the universal one is more flexable and can be used with alll devices while the psp specific unit is restricted to the psp only.
