Boxwave and Javoedge are the most famous PDA screen protector manufacturers so I was extremely happy to see they produce screen protectors for the PSP. After much deliberation on whether to go with Boxwave once again, as I have used their products for numerous PDAs in the past, I ended up picking Javoedge as I had read rave reviews about their Crystal Clear PSP protector and liked the fact that it covered the entire surface.
The package came with instructions, an application card, a lint-free cloth and the screen protector. But wait, why was there all this dust on what looked like the screen protector's outer packaging? To my horrifying dismay, the dust was actually on the screen protector itself. At the time I began to question the quality of Javoedge's packaging, but later would find out the truth.
I had a quick hot shower to ensure a dust-free environment where I could apply the screen protector. I had always done this for my PDAs and they always turned out perfectly: no dust and few to no air bubbles under the screen. I wiped my PSP with the cloth as well as the dusty screen protector. At this point I'd like to note that for some reason the cloth seemed of low quality; it didn't feel as soft as my previous cloths and even left a few marks on the screen. I checked that I was using the correct side as both sides felt to be of the same material but I concluded the side I was using was slightly softer so I was confused but continued on.
I peeled back the application side of the protector and began applying, using the card as I slowly lay the protector on the surface of my PSP. Application was not as bad as expected for such a complex designed screen protector. And I found air bubbles to subsist only around the left and right sides of the protector where application was more difficult to do using the card. Also, air bubbles for the logos and letters were impossible to smooth out and while I believe Javoedge could taken these into account it is minor and easily ignored.
As for the screen protector after application, the moment I left the washroom and into a brighter lit room to look at the final product I had noticed two things: 1) I could see all the marks from using the application card on the screen protector, and 2) The screen protector was instantly covered with dust. I took 10 minutes wiping it with every lint-free cloth I had but it was futile. The dust would not dissipate.
So now, with my newly bought 3 day old PSP's face covered in dust I am ready to give the protection of my PSP's screen to Boxwave and possibly even Hori in the meantime.

In conclusion, while this screen protector ranks high above those manufactured by Pelican or Brando, comparing it with previous PDA screen protectors manufactured by Boxwave earns it a score of 50/100.

Hrm. I've noticed that the HORI is just slightly larger than the screen on the Asterix faceplate. I thought this might have been a good option to try instead but it sounds pretty bad.
