Summary: Overall, best in class

I have gone through about 14 cases so far and this case is by far the best I have found for my uses.

So far among the best I have tried the Logictech Playgear Pocket and street, the Madkatz stealth, Capdase Luxury Hard Case, and the case by Vaja. All these cases were good in their own right but each lacked in their own area. The PGP was good but it's instability, the fact the PSP didn't fit snugly inside the case and no access to the UMD were major down sides. The Stealth case was OK but I didn't really like the clear screen protector, and w/o it on the shoulder buttons were all but inaccessible. Not to mention brace that sat against the umd door to hold it up for UMD viewing left scratches. The Capdase Hard case was not to bad solving the stealth problems however the only part of that case that was metal was the front, the back is plastic, and the Pro Duo slots are a joke unless you want to use tape. The PG Street is great as carrying the PSP, Pro Duos, and 3 umds, however if you want to set it down and watch a movie you have to carry another cradle. Now the Vaja has only one draw back. It is too expensive and it's made out of leather. My GF got me one just after I got my PSP and granted it was a great case, I didn't want to carry it around everywhere, and after using it for a while the leather starts to crack at the bends where you bend the cover back to set it up as a stand.

The thing I have found with the PSP is after an extended gaming session my hands would either hurt or my fingers would be tingling for the simple reason Sony didn't even think of the term Ergo when designing the PSP. I have large hands and it just wasn't made for people like me. This case/stand is the best cure all I have found.

Pros
• Hard plastic form fitting shell covers the entire PSP except for the umd door, and all the action buttons ie. D Pad.
• Grips flip out taking almost all strain out of playing for long periods.
• I only paid 14.99 for mine at bestbuy so the price is right

Cons
• No access to the Mem stick slot w/o removing the case
• The power switch, and WiFi switches are difficult but not impossible to get to.
• You have to have the handles open to use headphones or the charger.

The case has held together for a good while now and I haven't had any problems with it at all. I have dropped it and the PSP has survived unscathed. Of all the cases I have tried this is by far the best I have run into for what I need. This is just my 2 cents worth but hope it helps someone.

Oh and on a side note I am working on a Mod for this case that will enable you to access the mem stick slot. I have had limited success so far. The hardest part is getting the handle to remain stable after modding. I am figuring if I can make access to the Mem stick workable then this might just be the best case out there (=o). L8r

Tasuki, I totally agree with you on all accounts. The memory stick fix would be very nice. I notice that you might be able to swing the entire grip piece 180 degrees but I haven't been brave enough to force it. That would probably permanently kill the spring action on that side but I still think it would be stable when locked into playing position. It seems like if you were able to do that you could cut the memory stick door similar to the way the Capdase Lux is and you'd be all set. What approach are you taking?

Hey guys here is an update on the mod I will post pics soon.

The first thing you have to do is open the left handle all the way. You will see at the top of the handle there is a lip that helps to keep the handle from extending to far. You have to carefully lift the piece of plastic so you can swing the lip out and depress the button on the back all the way in so it slips under the handle. This fully extends the handle and gives you access to the area where the memory stick door would be. Be careful that you don't lose the spring that will fall out once you extend the handle. I took an exacto knife and cut out access to the memory stick. You basically cut from the bottom edge of the wifi slot down and around opening up access to the door. Now you have to shave the lip down on the handle so that it slips back under the edge of plastic that use to hold it. You don't want to completely cut it off just shave it a bit. After you finish that just push the back button again and slide the handle over it back into the notch where it locks it into 2nd position. You do lose a bit of stability in the left handle but so far it has worked fine for me. This is still a work in progress so please don't be to hard on me (=o). I am also working on a way to either keep the spring where it belongs of maybe using something else to push the handle out. I am also working on a closed face plate for that would attach to the handles instead of the open clear plastic one. Any ideas would be welcome.
