Got this game about a week ago and I have trouble putting it down. I got it because the screenshots reminded me so much of Secret of Mana for Super Nintendo. It is the first game that I start playing on a full charge and stop playing when the battery dies! As far as the story goes, it's not very gripping but you do get to do lots of different tasks: locate items, kill monsters, upgrade weapons. It is all typical but fun nontheless if you love action RPG's. It really takes me back to Secret of Mana but with a nice upgrade in graphics. The one thing that I must say I find annoying is the soundtrack, it really gets on my nerves. Thankfully there is seperate music volume control so I turned it down to a whisper. Haven't beat it yet and have put some decent time into it so far. Would recommend to anyone who loved Secret of Mana or loves action RPG's!
I've heard the load times on this game are really quite irritating, and frequent - care to comment?
Tales of Eternia is well worth picking up if you're an rpg fan, great 40+ hours game, no load times, decent soundtrack and rather pretty to boot.
Trust me, the game is worth 65/100. The load-times are way to frequent and seriously ruin everything the game has to offer. It's basically a half-assed port.
well if you want my opinion i did think the load times were quite annoying but wasnt enought to stop me from playing it. If you want a real review you can go to IGN or something, stop complaining. you are obviously a pro reviewer by you recent reviews but i dont have the time nore do i have the skill to write a long review that keeps peoples attention. thanks to the first poster for taking it for what it was worth. I know i would have bought this game sooner if someone would have told me it was like secret of manna so i was just doing others a favor.
I personally doenst think that the load time is very annoying, considering that it didnt take like 30 seconds for one loading*~*. The only thing I want to complain about this game is the graphics actually, the quality arent bad but the frame rates is just a little bit "laggy" I would like it if the frame rate inside a house is the same when I'm outside(when you're outside it get a bit annoying to me).
The soundtracks in this game, well this I see in a diffrent way with you dragoncroi, I actually love the soundtrack VERY MUCH, my friends too. For those of you who want to know, the boss fighting and the intro theme soundtracks are just like those in Guilty Gear, which is Sweeeeeeeeeeeet....
I can deal with load times. I liked Untold Legends and X-Men Legends 2 and those had plenty of loading screens. This game looks good. I'll pick it up the next time I'm trading something in.
And don't sweat your review dragoncroi. I always figured that this site was for normal user reviews. I don't expect every single one to look as if it came from IGN, many of which I think can get too long. You wrote enough to get me interested in the game. Thanks.
