| Summary: Great collection but somewhat a step back after Gradius 5 on PS2

Basically a great collection of classic side scrolling shooters.
This little disc packs lots of nostalgia/value for those who are looking for a good shooter but it lacks 1 key element that other PSP shooters can make up for w/ camera angle/sprite size and that is a very small collision detection area. You literally need to squint to weave through some bullet sprays in this and that can really detract from the game play. If I wanted to hook this up to a TV I'd just rather play the 2 player simultaneous play version of Gradius 5 on PS 2.
Good fun shooter collection but the fundamental play of Gradius 2 or Gradius 3 are pretty much the formula for the whole series since so the value is more like getting 20 extra levels than getting 3 extra games. Also key is the possibility of playing multiplayer wi-fi. I haven't tried this yet but it was tons of fun on Gradius 5 for PS2 and is the key issue that seems to be missing from the PS3 lineup -- good multiplayer offline play in non sports games.
