The only game that this brings memories of is Einhander, a simple visceral shooter w/ great power ups and a natural pick-up play mechanic to it. This game has the wall climbing mechanics of Strider, the jump, armor and weapon power ups of previous Mega Mans and as the 3rd Mega Man release for the portable PSP is quite simply classic. Ability to choose stage like in 1st Mega Man+great FMV's make this more than just a trip down memory lane. Geared towards a slightly older audience than the previous 2 Mega Man games this one impresses w/ its action packed pace.

Smooth intuitive controls coupled w/ solid graphics and a simple "old school' feel make this one a winner on many accounts.

Gameplay - 87: Will have you coming back for more after finishing it.
Music - 91: Wow, it's still that catchy years later.
Graphics - 78: Reminds me of Einhander for PSX w/ great 2D/3D mix
Sound - 74: Good but slightly dated but music is excellent.
Fun Factor - 89: Always good to have in your pocket.
Control - 92: Feels perfect the moment you pick it up
Depth/Value - 78: Slightly low since it is a 1 player game for most part
Overall (not an average) - 87: A great series finally gets a PSP title worthy of the Mega Man franchise name.

is this better than powered up??

I would definitely opt for Powered Up over this one...no doubt I had fun playing it but compared to Powered Up, it just doesn't feel like it has long of a shelf-life...you'll beat it, you'll watch a cartoon, you'll play as Vile, you'll beat it and then you'll test out the hard settings. Powered Up—you can play as each of the bosses, take on all the challenge levels, create and download your own levels and Capcom(?) has set up (and even co-branded) Special Downloads that feature Ultimate Stages, more construction packs, etc. Only my opinion, but I love Powered Up compared to X—it just feels funner...and the music is awesome...Elecman's tune makes me tingle.

it's still great fun though, and you have to see it moving to believe how pretty it is. oh, and the voice acting is nowhere near as irritating as Powerd Up's.

Powered Up is too "kidish". This is way better. Good review, but what's that complain about not having multiplayer, does someone actually pays PSP online?, This is a on-go console, it just you and it, forget about thar multiplayer non-sense, buy a X360 if you want Live play.
