| Summary: Worth Getting

I have been looking for something to keep my PSP in new condition and it seems all the good products had to be ordered online. I am not able to order online but then I found out that I can get this case at CircuitCity. I got this case and I have to say I am impressed with this case and one thing that will really makes it good is how easy it is to put on.
First of all I am going to start with the few little prombles this case has. The case scracthes easly. Second of all, the thing is plastic. But these problems really ain't that bad. The scratches are minor, not even visible when the PSP is on and even when its off in places without a lot of light. But in lots of light, these little scratches are visible but like I said, they don't really look bad and don't mess up the appearence of the PSP.
Now the screen looks clear when the case is on. The case doesn't effect the screen visually all that much but then think about it, any screen product you are going to put effects the visual apperance of the screen very little or by a lot.
The appearance of the PSP while the case is on is very attractive. The cases clear gloss like platic makes it look really good. The case doesn't make the PSP look bulker but it does add about .025 cm to the overall mesurement of the side from the top to the bottom. To give an idea of the measurement from the top of the screen to the bottom and overall, the case does make the PSP not fit in Pelican travel case.
An important factor is the controls. The controls are all accessible guring gameplay and very easy to access. The case doesnt effect the use of the button during gameplay at all.
Now what is really good about the case is the fact that you can connect to the USB port, Headphones and the Charger while the case is still on. The best part is that the UMD Door is accessible but the memory card slot isn't though.
Overall it is a good case. The fact that it is only $10 makes it a good product and worth buying.

wsun:
1) No, I mean that the hinged flap is a *3rd* part -- it's the middles section of the back plate, cut out and hinged to the back plate. The way, the back plate stays on and you just drop open the middle section to get to the UMD.
2) No, it has a kick-stand, This appears to be a 4th part -- a small, rectanglar piece at the bottom of the case. It is not the front plate rotated. At least from what I could tell from the illustration.
3) The packaging said "Joytech ArmorLite," so I knnow it wasn't a case of misplaced items.
I don't really care if I have the "right" case. I like the one I have, regardless who made it. I'm more interested in giving people correct information. If I recommend a case to someone, I want to know that it still exists. If we have reviews here at PSP411, then they should be as accurate as possible, or else they're useless. If the Armorlite design has changed, then the info here at psp411 should reflect that accurately.

socom411: hi where do you buy this item and how much?

OK - one (hopefully) last thing in my obsession:
I went to the Circuit City near my house (not the same one I mentioned in my previous post) and they still carry the Armorlite that I originally purchased. It is sold under the same name: "ArmorLite." This is the one that is in my pictures at the beginning of these comments.
The back of the packaging is different: it shows illustrations of the Armorlite as simply two pieces of plastic, connected by a hinge. This is the packaging I remember my Armorlite coming in. It does not have the illustrations from the other package I saw, which showed the case as having a UMD door cutout and a "kick stand."
So, yes, there are two different designs for the product sold under the name "Armorlite." Make sure you know which one you are buying - checking the illustrations on the back of the packaging seems to be the easiest way to tell the difference.edited: Feb 25 2006

Yeah, BiZG, busy being obsessive
BTW, I went to my local Circuit City yesterday to pick up one of the "old school" Armorlites they had in stock just last week -- and now they only carry the new design! Sadly, I prefer the old design to the new one, and I was hoping to pick up one of the last ones in case my current Armorlite every broke. Oh, well...
