Summary: Surprising Quality

I read the previous review of this product and felt an urge to dispel the negative vibe from it... I bought the PSP Value Pack and I wasn't too anxious to have yet another set of headphones since I already own a pair of Etymotic ER-6 earphones. Nonetheless, I tested them out with Lumines and Vampire Chronicles: The Chaos Tower. I'd also like to note that I am one of the most irrational people you'll ever meet I am prone to disliking things without giving them a moment's thought. Well, my little audiophile world was ROCKED by the quality of these headphones and no the remote doesn't feel fragile. I find the headphones to be very comfortable which is strange because most headphones tend to hurt my ears after a short period of use. The sound is amazing to say the least. I don't mind the color of the headphones even though they don't match the system but I do have to admit that I find the remote a bit large...

I think the headphones only hurt to some people. Not everybody has the same ears... The only thing i want is the remote because i dont want to pull my PSP in and out all da time...

I've never had a comfortable feeling when earbuds are inserted into my ears. And all the earbuds I own are SonyŽ buds. Hopefully these do feel a bit better. Thanks for the review, al.

@dECODED - np, i've never had a pair of earbuds that ever felt right cause i think my left ear is shaped a little different than my right so i would ALWAYS get a pain there when i wear'm but with the sony value pack ones i don't feel any discomfort at all... i don't know why... the only other earbuds that feel somewhat fine are in-ear ones but i can't wear them for more than an hour max because i can feel them blowing out my ear drums hehe

I felt compelled to add my own comments here :

I have used these earphones a couple of times playing my PSP. I only find them comfortable when I've added sponge sleeves to them (something which Sony forgot to add to the value pack - nyahuh? why??) I find them uncomfortable without them. Surely for the extra cost (10p/5cents/20Yen) they should have been included. Bad move, Sony.

Perhaps I've been spoilt by using my Shure buds with my iPod? I don't know. Remote does feel a little cheap, but nowhere near as cheap as some inline remotes (Apple notwithstanding). And the colour argument is irrelevent - you can't see the cable when watching your PSP screen.

@Jay - All normal earbuds hurt my ears padded or unpadded except for the Sony value pack ones. I don't know why it's VERY weird.
