First of all, if you like any of the other Tony Hawk games, you will love this one. When you first start this game, it looks almost exact to the PS2 version.
In story mode, you create a skater and join Tony and Bam's crew on the World Destruction Tour which will progress through 16 total levels 4 of which are newly added just for the PSP. The goals in each level are basically exactly the same as the PS2 version and if you have the PS2 version it may be kind of boring except for the new levels..it is still fun though because you are playing it on the PSP!
Create Modes
There are a total of 4 different create a modes in THUG 2 Remix:
Create-a-Skater
customize a skater to your liking and with a USB cable (not included) upload your face to the game and map it to the skater. This works quite well but I noticed during gameplay that you can sometimes see through your skaters hair especially during cut scenes.
Create-A-Graphic
In this area you can make a custom graphic that can be spray painted on walls or put on your clothing. I thought this worked well because it has many choices.
Create-A-Goal
This allows you to come up with some kind of goal to complete while playing. I would rather just do what the game has already created.
Create-A-Trick
If you have played the other Tony Hawk games you should know it is kind of hard to come up with a trick that looks realistic. You can make some cool ones though.
Gameplay
Controls
When you first start playing THUG 2 Remix, the d-pad is a little harder to turn compared to the PS2 version and this game is entirely controlled by the d-pad unless you get off your board to run around which allows you to use either the pad or the stick. You will get use to it arter playing a couple hours.
Graphics
The grapics are very good and the draw distance is good so you can see the whole level very clearly. While skating around, there are some screwy looking objects and you can see pixels all alone but it still lookes great. When I was playing one level, I fell and for some reason my skater's hand started smoking like it was burning but all I did was restart and it was back to normal. Compared to the PS2 version, it falls short but it is still impressive. Like the PS2 version there is the Classic Mode which has you do goals like the first Tony Hawk game such as high score, secret tape, etc.. pretty impressive that they could fit all that stuff into one little disc.
Overall
Overall I love all the Tony Hawk games and this is another wecome edition to the collection. I enjoy playing it and it is really well done. This is a must have if you are a fan of the series...you wont be disappointed.
