Summary: I put it through a strenuous test and it passed!

The reason I picked up this product was because my fisrt PSP was stepped on and broken, badly. So when I replaced it, I bought this as well. I took the old PSP with the cracked screen and put it in the case for some testing. In one of the other reviews I saw that someone was worried that if it dropped it would pop open. I dropped it off of my dining room table and it did not open. To test it out a little further, I climbed up to my roof (do not try this on your working PSP).

I dropped it off the roof and onto the concrete driveway. Not only did it not pop open but it did'nt break. So I'm not worried about it popping open, although I'm sure it could happen. Also a drop as far from a roof may still be able to cause damage just from such a hard impact. To test it a second time I brought a hammer to the sucker, it didn't break! So this protection for me is worth it. Sometimes it feels awkward when playing in the case, but you should be more worried about your PSP's protection when you're not playing it. I recommend this case.

Knew there'd be skeptics, I shoulda filmed a video or something, I only tried it once, don't forget I do mention that it could pop open. You realize the polycarbonate is also what some black boxes are made out of, they are pretty sturdy!

Good review! How'd you get it stepped on? And, I believe he dropped it off a roof. I can get up to my roof through out skylight, which is about 9 feet off the ground (without a ladder). It isn't that hard.

yeah my house is only 1 story it's not like it was a 30 foot drop, It got stepped on because I left it in my coat and it got knocked in the floor and stepped on by a stoner.
