Amazing. One of Tim Burton's best films and Danny Elfman's best scores. The characters are unforgettable and the story is just awesome, appealing to both young and old. And if you're not humming one of Elfman's songs at the end of this film, you have got to be either tone dear or mute, it's that good. The claymation is a quaint visual technique, but in a world full of CGI, it's a nice change. I can go on and on about this film but, seriously, you have just got to watch it yourself.
I couldn't believe how good the picture quality was on the UMD. It actually looks better than the DVD. Oogie Boogie's room just looks plain amazing. The sound, it's one of the few UMDs I have seen where the sound doesn't go from whisper quiet during the dialgoue to ear drum shattering loud during the action scenes. The volume is pretty loud throughout the film as well. You won't miss any dialgoue at all. Special features include subtitles, a half hour long making of the film featurette, and Tim Burton's first film - Frankenweenie, which I hate only cos it has Shelly Duval. This UMD is a must have.
Wow I'm almost floored you don't know what this is (surely I'm not that old). This was Tim Burton's first blockbuster of stopframe. Later he went to do a "sort of" flop called James and the Giant Peach and then he just did Corpse Bride. This is on my xmas wishlist
I saw this movie. It was really weird. And, you have to be kidding about Corpse Bride! That would make you younger than nine or out of teh loop, I guess.
"There are few who can deny
At what I do I am the best
For my talents are renowned far and wide
When it comes to surprises
In the moonlit night
I excel without ever even trying"
-Jack Skelington
I love this movie.
(As you can tell by the memorized lyrics up above)
I can't believe you haven't seen TNBC! Please say you were caged up in the basement up until now.
Burton's movies (excluding some) : Vincent, Pee Wees Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Ed Wood, Mars Attacks, Sleepy Hollow, Planet Of The Apes, Big Fish, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride.
Only two movies I was really dissapointed in were Planet of the Apes and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
