I wasn't fully aware that a PSP could produce such graphics such as this. The cities are streamed, and pop-ups, slow downs, and crashes are not to be found in this wonderful piece of goodness. The load times range from four to six seconds, which is above average from other games like Midnight Club 3 on the PSP, which take about one minute.
But, my only concern about the graphics, is that most of the cutscenes in the beginning of most missions are, well, barely animated. Lacking the cinematic feel of the GTA's before it. I know, it's the PSP, but seeing your character move his hands around doesn't pull me into the story.
Gameplay - 110
Yes, 110 out of 100. This game's gameplay is that gosh darn good.
The targetting is similar to San Andrea's but a bit washed down. The target can sometimes, in a huge gun fight (which are littered throughout), target pedestrians instead of the threat. I found my self shooting a elderly woman, instead of gunning down the ten rival gang members just a few feet past her.
There's also "fine aiming". You can pull this off by holding the are button, and pressing the down button (as if you didn't already know). This is usefull, when a car stands between you and your enemy, and you're just shooting the car, it also makes for very easy head shots. You can also "adjust" your aim, by holding down the L button while in fine aim mode. It basically slows down your retical and smoothes out the movement for better aiming. This is especially useful when sniping.
Sound - 90
Radio stations can get annoying at times, so I just turn them off. But, they do stay true to their time periods.
What is a Grand Theft Auto without the funny in the radio stations? It's boring is what is. That's why there's a whole bunch of it in this game. The radio stations are filled with blatant sterotypes, hilarious commercials, and funny radio talk shows.
Overall
What are you watiing for? Rent it, buy it, borrow it, whatever! Just play it!
