Sperry's Power Bank 3 is an external 4400 mAh battery that attaches to the back of the PSP. It can doubly duty as a cradle thanks to the kickstand. The PSP's internal battery is only 1800 mAh, so the extra 2600 mAh will significantly expand your game playing and movie watching times.

In the package you get a decent quality carrying case for your PSP and Power Bank 3. The outside of the case has the PSP's white circle but with a 'TANK' logo in the middle. Inside there is a little pouch area where it appears you can fit in some UMD's, although with the thickness of the Power Bank, it isn't suggested.

The Power Bank itself is very well constructed and designed. The finish is smooth, black and matches the PSP perfectly. Attaching the unit to the PSP is very easy thanks to the two holes on the top of the PSP. At the top there is a charge light that indicates whether the unit is charging or already charged.

You can also toggle whether you want the PSP to draw power from the Power Bank or not. Finally, there is an ill-placed AC adaptor port for actually powering up the battery. It doesn't quite make sense to have the adaptor go in at the top, as it becomes a little unwieldy when trying to play games at the same time as charging the battery.

Charging up the battery creates a barely noticeable amount of heat on the back of the unit when charging, which take around 3 hours from empty to full.

Holding the PSP with Bank attached feels good, but if you play for hours you may notice your hands getting a little tired. Weighing in at 280g it isn't a brick, but it isn't entirely light either. We loved the kickstand on the back, which makes for a great viewing angle when watching movies. It stows away easily when you want to hold or store the PSP in its normal position.

All in all, the Power Bank 3 is a great product. Given the price of regular 1800 mAh batteries, it's not too surprising that this unit costs around $52 USD (30 GBP). If you require extended playing time, you'd be hard pressed to find a better battery charger.
