The hard case is exactly as it sounds, a hard case. That being said, don't expect to use this and stick it in your pocket, as it is extremely large. I only use this for travel uses when the PSP will be banged around. It's great for putting in luggage or a backpack. The PSP fits in perfectly and does not move AT ALL while it is inside. The inside also has a place for 2 UMDs to be held, but I don't like using them because it is somewhat hard to put them in and get them out, and I'm afraid of pulling the UMD apart. In terms of protection, it would take A LOT to break the case. As I said I use this for traveling when I know there is a chance of something being put on top of it.
The UMD cases are fairly simple cases meant to be used for everyday use in your pocket. They offer protection from just about everything besides weight. They are lightweight and very thin.
The headphones are alright. If you're looking for headphones to occasionally use then I would get them, as they are of better quality than the standard PSP headphones. But they are by no means high quality earbuds.
Overall, if you can get a good deal for this package, and actually have use for all of it, then go for it. Just don't get it for only 1 thing as they are all of medium quality.
