How many times has yor thumb started skipping or cramping, pressing down on that textures nub that came with your PSP? 1 time? everytime? Feel like you have no precise control over the textured analog "plate"?

I picked up the Naki world analog stick pack, finally. It comes with 3 analog sticks, each different colors in black greyish white and PS2 blue. *snapped* the sotck one off and popped the black one on, I wouldn't have ever thought I'd prefer the analog to the D-pad while playing Wipeout, nor would I have ever thought using the analog stick would be fun (with the stock nub).

It makes a world of difference when trying to control a game. Left shoulder + down on the analog ACTUALLY allows you to look backward in GTA, I can do wheelies now without swerving left or right, the directions are more precise as well as the ease of using the Naki analog stick tomake small adjustments while not going all the way in that direction.

Now the bad news.

These will not fit in almost any case, without possible modification. They are big, and if they don't fit in PGP (without the rubber top die-cut for the analog stick to fit through. I'd probably be guessing correctly by saying if, while it is on the PSP, it will not fit in the pgp, that it will not fit in most likely any other case as well. This poses a problem since the PSP is primarily a portable system. If you want to protect it, you'll have to bring the analog sticks somewhere else (your pocket) or not at all.

I'm gonna try and remove a circle cut out of the rubber padding on the top of the PGP just to see if I can get it closed with the naki world stick on. If I mess up i'll just buy another PGP. Either way though, it is worth purchasing these sticks regardless of case fit. They make playing games with the analog stick, that much better, I wish I had just ordered them in the first place.

SkiUtah, yes it will go back on and no it will not ruin your warranty, it is meant to come off for cleaning. Btw silver, where's your link?

I bought them, they work great. I drilled a 5/8" hole through my pgp for the analog to fit through so I don't have to remove it.

pgp=pwneD>

i tried the filing down trick too and it worked great! it's practically flush with the top of the PSP.

oh and a tip for how to get the hole drilled in the right place: remove the analog stick completely and remove the rubber insert from the PGP. Put the PSP in the case and close it... where the little post that holds the analog shows through the PGP, make a little mark with a sharpee.

When you start drilling, use a real small bit at first to drill the center hole, then slowly user larger and larger bits until you get to the right size. it took me about five minutes.

You can probably stop at about 5/8" cause that's the size of the analog stick.

I won't be cutting my case, but I like the sound of this. I'm wondering if I just carry the Naki stick around and swap it out when I want to use it, will the socket in the PSP start to get looser over time?

And SkiUtah, don't be nervous about popping off the stock nub. I was a little hesitant at first as well, but it pops right off and can go right back on.

Its just like the stock one. just more comfortable. I would not suggest you remove the nub every time you want to play. It will get worn out. and loose.

Can anyone post a pic. of a PGP customized for this item - I think the only problem one might have is the need of buying another PGP, right ? (that's not too expensive...).
Another question: can anyone point me a UK shop where I can buy this (Amazon.co.uk has it in their catalog, but it's unavailable at the time).
Thanks.

It looks like it may interfere with the DPAD above... Any one know about that?

taz, it depends on how you play.. Since I come from the gamers style of control (thumb resting dead center, diagonally on both left and right sets of buttons and D-pad), it does get in the way just a tiny bit.. but since more and more PSP games are picking up the analog as the primary control surface, this shouldn't really be an issue.. Lets put it this way. Previous to purchasing these naki analog replacements, I used the D-pad when playing wipeout (and no I dont suck), since I bought them, I have been using the new analog nub and now playing even better than I did before.

before I filed the back down a little bit, because it sat so high, it had some "wobble" to it that made it feel like it leaned or changed angles, but since I modded it, it feels just like the stock analog, no more wobble!
