How many times has yor thumb started skipping or cramping, pressing down on that textures nub that came with your PSP? 1 time? everytime? Feel like you have no precise control over the textured analog "plate"?

I picked up the Naki world analog stick pack, finally. It comes with 3 analog sticks, each different colors in black greyish white and PS2 blue. *snapped* the sotck one off and popped the black one on, I wouldn't have ever thought I'd prefer the analog to the D-pad while playing Wipeout, nor would I have ever thought using the analog stick would be fun (with the stock nub).

It makes a world of difference when trying to control a game. Left shoulder + down on the analog ACTUALLY allows you to look backward in GTA, I can do wheelies now without swerving left or right, the directions are more precise as well as the ease of using the Naki analog stick tomake small adjustments while not going all the way in that direction.

Now the bad news.

These will not fit in almost any case, without possible modification. They are big, and if they don't fit in PGP (without the rubber top die-cut for the analog stick to fit through. I'd probably be guessing correctly by saying if, while it is on the PSP, it will not fit in the pgp, that it will not fit in most likely any other case as well. This poses a problem since the PSP is primarily a portable system. If you want to protect it, you'll have to bring the analog sticks somewhere else (your pocket) or not at all.

I'm gonna try and remove a circle cut out of the rubber padding on the top of the PGP just to see if I can get it closed with the naki world stick on. If I mess up i'll just buy another PGP. Either way though, it is worth purchasing these sticks regardless of case fit. They make playing games with the analog stick, that much better, I wish I had just ordered them in the first place.

I feel kind of strange answering that, but yes.. yes they are removable. That is how you put them on. Btw I forgot to add something to this review regarding the actual surface of the analog stick.

The material and surface of the naki analog stick is almost like a microfiber rubber version of the dual shock 2 analog sticks. They are rubbery but very fine and smooth. When you use them there is grip, even though at first glance you'd think they'd be slick.

Ok, in regards to the PGP You will need to mod the case, cutting the rubber is not enough you will have to 1. bore a hole through the PGP 2. carve a dome, I went with the hole. You need to get a good idea of where the analog is. you can close the case and it will make a dent use that as a refrence point. use the extra analog to trace the circle, cut the rubber with a hobby knife ( try to be as prcise as possible) now with the rubber circle removed. take a small drill bit and in the center of the cust out drill through the plastic. Now you have a hole use a dremel or other rotery tool of choice and slowly create the size needed. It should take 5 min. top to do and if done right and with care you would think the hole was put there by Logitech themselves. and make sure you clean all the shavings from the case or you will have it in you PSP.

I have been using one of these for a couple months now, I highly recommend them.

One thing you might want to do is to file or cut down the stem of the Naki analog nub. I managed to use an emory(sp?) board or nail file to reduce the hieght to approx have of what it is out of the box. This lowers the profile quite a bit and doesn't interfere with the D-pad at all.

These things work great for GTA LCS and also worked really well for the SOCOM FTB beta.

Silverclown, thanks for the tips on modding the case, i'm trying to stray clear of that path at the moment though, because other than the holes in the case for power and headphones, shoulder buttons, I really don't want to add more holes..

Although, I have a dremel, all attachments and buffer, and probably 8 exacto knives.. lol So if I decided to do it, I have the proper tools. I just really don't want to comprimise the case for the analog.

Man. Do you really have to go through all of that, silverclown? How much higher than stock does this thing sit up? I've cut a rectangle out of the rubber in my PSP to view the screen with the case closed (Kinda think they should have done this in the first place- I mean, they expose the PSP logo on the back, but not the screen? SHeesh..) If you just make a hole in the rubber, then file the guy off like halogen8 said, maybe you wouldn't have to chop up the PGP?

I'm gonna try it. What do you think halogen? Do you have a PGP? Do you thyink it would fit in the case after cutting the rubber, then shortening the stick?

Psuedofinn, I dont think cutting the rubber AND filing the bottom of the naki analog stick will make it fit, thats how high up the stick is.

If you make the right cut. It comes out perfect the analog fits in the hole and the PGP is sealed around the stick. If I can get a pic up of it you could see it.

skiUtah, the stock analog stick just comes off, it's meant to come off. you dont need to break it or anything.

OK I put two pics on my 1up page. they are a little fuzzy but you can still see the hole. I have the grey one installed. Like I said easy. If you wanna see the pics of the Mod go to 1up.com and look for silverclown.
