I have the UMD cleaner that you crank manually and this motorized one seemed to clean my UMD's just as well (but no better). The way it attaches seems kind of wierd though. There is a magnet that holds the metal part of the UMD in place and turns so that the disc inside turns and the brush cleans the disc. All of this kind of worried me. But it works every time.
Like the laser lens cleaner this thing is noisy! And it has that same cheap feel to it. But it does the job. I would say if you don't already have a UMD cleaner this is worth getting, but it's nothing innovative really. I of course always try to keep my UMD's pristine (i.e. Always put them back in a case, etc) but fingerprints happen, especially when others touch it or I am not being careful and micro particles are invetible unless you live in a vacuum. This is handy to have and is definitely better than trying to wipe a UMD with a micro fiber cloth and trying to turn the disc inside yourself.
