Summary: Easy to install, but RUINS PICTURE QUALITY

I bought the Pelican Screen Guard with my PSP at launch (a single one though, not the two-pack). My Best Buy was really pushing them and it seemed cheap enough to try out.

It comes with a little stiff cardboard piece you use as a squeegee to push air bubbles out, nice but a credit card would do. The screen applies very easily, installation was actually easier than when I tried a Martin Field's screen guard.

However I have to say DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. While it installs pretty easily, it negatively affects the picture quality too much. After installing, I was quite surprised that my fantastic new PSP screen was giving dark, jaggy images with this screen protector.

I thought I was seeing things, the distortion was so great, so I peeled back the corner of the screen guard to check (which I really didn't want to do because I installed it so perfectly and didn't want to mess with it). Sure enough, under the Pelican guard was my beautiful crystal clear image.

I immediately tore the screen guard off, tossed it in the trash and rubbed the microfiber cloth all over the face of my PSP. Thank god the screen guard did not leave any residue that was difficult to remove.

I reviewed the Martin Fields protector on this site as well, I don't recommend that one either because of installation difficulty. While I don't recommend the Pelican product, my general recommendation if you decide to purchase ANY screen protector is:

Take great pains and make the effort to install it perfectly ON THE FIRST TRY. Trust me, trying to RE-apply any screen guard is an effort in frustration and you'll end up with a dirty, dusty unusable piece of plastic with your fingerprints all over the sticky side that you throw away.

i know everyone says they hate this one, but i bought another psp from japan and i did not have another hori screen so i happened to be in walmart and i saw a two pack of these pelican screen guards and i have to say there not that bad they go on easy i like the texture better then the hori it feels alot thicker. there are noticible bubbles but only when the psp is off true there are none with hori and i love that. but two reasons i like these (1) i don't stare at the psp when it is off so the bubbles don't bother me and (2) is for the same price as the hori i got two screen guards and a cloth.but if you do want something that will be clear when the psp is on or off go for the hori , but if you don't mind bubbles when ther unit is off and want 2 screen guards for the price of 1 go for the pelican
