This game has been out in the market for quite some time but I recently decided to purchase because my libary of PSP consists mainly of UMD movies. Anyways, Hots Shots Golf for the PSP is a very good port from its PS2 counterpart.
[b]Graphics
First thing I noticed was that Sony decided to use Japanes anime style characters. Usually HSG characters are redone as to appeal to its american market. Nevertheless, Sony has done a great job using the PSP's hardware. Everything is vibrantly colorful and detailed. The animations are superb and smooth. I think this game really uses the PSP's hardware Tessellation because although the PSP cant support full screen anti aliasing the game manages to minimize jagged edges.

Not much to say here, except pefection.
[b]Controls
I wasn't surprised, it feels almost like its predecessor on the PS2. Present here is the old 3 click swing system. Outdated? Kinda, but still better than the other golf games. Overall, control is tight and accurate making those tree/bunker shots are easy as can be.
[b]Replay Value
Obviously, there are hidden characters, and like always you have to unlock through playin game. You can upgrade your character and customize them. However, when your playin a newly unlocked character, it kinda sucks having to level them up too.
Pros
Lighting fast load times. I think it streams the UMD constantly therefore eliminated long waiting. Great Visuals, Good Sounds, Tight controls, Unlockable Item,Characters, will keep you busy for weeks to come.
Cons
Because it streams constantly from the UMD I think it may eat up the battery quicker than most games, maybe.
Sony better be making a sequel for this awesome game.
