Every screen protector up to this point has focused on protecting just the screen. This is of course the most vital area of the PSP, but what about the rest of the face? Worried about scratches and constant smudging? Brando has your solution with its PSP Body Screen Protector.

What it is

Brando's PSP Body Screen Protector actually comes with two pieces. The first is similar to the traditional screen protectors with a rectangular format, although each corner extends out a little bit more to provide a bit more protection.

The second piece, the body face cover, is the real gem. It covers almost the entire PSP front, with a custom shape that fits around the D-pad, analog stick and control buttons. It stops just a touch below and above the screen and also fits around the speakers.

There is no 'squeegee' included to press down the screen, but you can use any ID / credit card to achieve the same effect.

Setup

Setup is painless. Having applied other screen protectors, we found this one to be particularly easy. You simply start at one side (left or right) and peel back while pushing down lightly on the protector with a squeegee to remove any bubbles. If you see any small particles, you should remove them now, or you'll always see it when using your PSP.

Application was simple and the PSP looks great. Admittedly, there are some corners around the D-pad and buttons that look like the protector isn't down all the way. Attempts to get rid of these 'corner bubbles' weren't entirely succesful. Perhaps after a bit of use they will smooth out.

How does it work?

Those of you who are particularly protective of your PSP will find this the perfect protector. Our only complaint was that some of the edges didn't press down fully. We will report back if this does flatten out after a bit of use. Overall, for $13USD, this is a great value. While other protectors sell for the same price, with the Brando PSP Body Screen Protector you get two for the price of one. Great value for a unique product.

Thanks Captain,

How long did you have to wait for it to be delivered to your place? I ordered mine last Saturday. Can you compare it to the Martin Fields in terms of clarity? I can't wait until I get mine!

According to Brando the clarity is more than 99%. Personally, I can't tell the difference between the PSP with/without the protector.

Nice! I'm gonna get the logitech hard case also, so it's going to be a great combo.

I did order this product about a week ago, but may only end up using the smaller, more traditional screen protector. My greatest concern about using the full cover is that the text on the right face and the icons on left face of the PSP seem to be screened on top of the surface. If the full protector were applied and ever needed to be removed, my guess is that it would pull offor partially pull off that screening ...

if the protector pulls the screening off the psp face then i would not use it but over time from the dirt and grease of your hands, the screening will come off any way. just leave the protector on until they make a replaceable face place. hopefully one in different colors and style (say transparent ones)

This seems like a pretty good buy. I'll most likely buy it sooner or later.

I finally got mine after almost 2 weeks. I posted my concerns above above the seeming potential for the larger protector to remove the screening on the PSP face.

I can tell you that it is no longer a concern, so if you want one of these protectors and were wondering as I was if it would affect the screening if you tried to remove it, that all is good with this protector.

As a nice sidenote, this is a very high quality, very clear, no distortion, protector.

Highly recommended (if you can stand to wait 2 weeks for delivery).

It's not too bad if you've ever installed a similar product in the past (which I hadn't). I was REALLY glad that I ordered 2 of them, and 2 come in each pack (the full-face & the screen). I used the full-face one on my wife's PSP and the screen version on mine. I couldn't get the full-face one to work very well on mine as my PSP face is not perfectly smooth - it has a couple of very tiny bubbles on it, where hers doesn't. Those little bubbles made spots where the protector wouldn't adhere fully and gave the impression that there was a small piece of lint under it. Hers went on almost too easy and looks great, where mine was a total freaking nightmare to get right.

For anyone installing this or similar product, I HIGHLY suggest that when smoothing out the bubbles with a credit card that you place a piece of the plastic that the protector came in over the top of the protector itself, since you can and will mar the protector by repeated smoothing with the CC.
