| Summary: Nice Diversion from a busy day
90
Great fun. Futuristic racing with nifty ships rather than lame prototype cars.
Each ship has ratings for handling, speed, shields and thrust. Each track requires a different approach, so you might want to choose ships differently depending on the characteristics of the track. Some are all winding curves and require more manoueverability, some are just wide flat speed tests. There are several speed levels, Vector, Venom, Flash, Rapier & Phantom. It gets progressively more difficult, the faster you go.
There are head to head races, tournaments, time trials, a wild zone section and free play for practice. Getting gold medals unlocks different tracks. Each track takes about 3 minutes to run so it's ideal for short attention spans or quick pick up play. Not that you won't be there for an hour without realising it anyway, but in case you're moredisciplined, you can play in short bursts.
There's also downloadable content. More tracks, extra ships, music and skins for the game. These can be downloaded to your computer and added onto the memory stick or obtained wirelessly if you have access to an internet node.
Absolutely worth the money spent. And that's aside from the little crack that allows you to browse the web from the download page.
