| Summary: Very Durable Product
60
I have a case very similar to this. It is the Pelican Micro Series 1060, availible here as the "Large Gear Box". Seeing as it is the same idea, my review will cover the important facts about the 3000 Series.
Build
This case is thick, and strong. The website boasts that it is water and crush proof, and based on my "quality assurence testing" (in the shower, and dropping it on the driveway), it lives up to this claim. While not gorgeous, it has this clunky, maybe a little cool look (not saying you can exactly show it off as your latest fashion item, but it isn't terrible). There is lining on the inside that assures you that anything you put in it will stay scratch-free. I don't think you could "take this to the streets" with you, but it is great for carrying on a plane or otherwise traveling.
Functionability
This case will, most certainly, stand up to abuse. You can beat this thing around, and it will come out smiling (see my quility assurence testing policies above). I can put in my PSP, two Sour Altoids UMD casesand my Ear Clip Headphones (not availible from this site) with plenty of room to spare (Sorry if this isn't the exact amount of volume in the 3000 Series, I have a slightly different one). The 3000 Series has plenty of room for almost all your stuff.
Value
This case is pretty well made, but I think $30 or so is asking alot for a case that is not suitable for all situations (it does not collaborate well with social functions, such as school dances). I personally think you'd be better off with the [url=http://www.psp411.com/show/product/298/0/Logitech_Playgear_Street.html]Logitech Playgear Street[/b] if this is the type of case you are looking for (very sturdy, not incredibly portable)
Summary
This is a medicore case. There are more stylish alternatives. However, it does so what you ask of it.
Pros
Strong, durable
Good for travel
Can be used for other things
Holds all your stuff
Cons
Not all that good looking
Not great for just walking around with
Logitech Playgear Street would be a better alternative
Slightly pricey for such a simple case

You take your PSP to the school dance?
+
No, but I was afraid other people might try.

lol, thank god, i got a scary image of a poor girl all dressed up sitting by her date playing his PSP lol.
PS- people, please dont take your PSP to a dance, it might be the last date you ever have lmao.

Pelican gear rocks. It's not the same as the company that makes the PSP accessories. They make flashlights and military-spec cases. I have several and wouldn't trust my gear inside anything else. As far as protection goes in a case, this is it. However, the logitech gear- being designed specifically for the PSP- is far more reasonable. I currently have the playgear pocket and am eagerly anticipating picking up a playgear street.

is this product... a joke?
+
i'm going to wait until they come out with a captain planet version of these....lol

I didn't know we needed a case for when we throw our PSP's off a mountain top hoping that it would be ok. I guess I can find comfort in that.
+
i dont mean to pick on you but, if anyone needs to bring there PSP to a dance then they have problems <------end of story.

I think you are jumping the gun here. You are reviewing the 3000 series based on your experience with a totally different case! How can you possibly comment on something without first hand experience which you obviously don't have? That's like reviewing MLB Baseball when you have only played MVP Baseball, you can't possibly know how good the other game is!! Even when products look similar, there are always differences. People depend on reviews to influence their product buying, you are giving this product a bad review without even owning one.....that's ridiculous!
For anyone interested in the 3000 or other versions available, click here---> link

Why not bring PSPs to a school dance? I mean, just don't ignore the person.

I submitted the case that I actually owned, and captain told me that they were the same general idea, so they didn't need to add a separate page for it.
So there.

In that case I have to disagree with Captain. All driving games have the same general idea but each one has it's own review, why should it be different when reviewing cases?
Anyway, thats my opinion, not having a pop at you I just disagree & thats what forums are for.........discussion of opinions.

this case is for natural disasters duh, you may lose your home but your psp will come out floating.....pelican. plus if there was a hurricane you could spot it easily in ruble or from a rescue copter cuz its yellow.i mean you guys didnt think these were for everyday use did you?!?!
