Summary: A major improvement

Presentation - 90
The look of this game is great. It really shows off the power of the PSP in respect to its audio and visual capabilities. In addition, the set up and interface of this game over the last one is greatly improved. If you're like me and you bought the first version for PSP and you were let down (like I was), I don't think you will be this time.

Graphics - 90
This game looks fantastic. The character models are slick. The courses are beautiful. Then you add in the fact that the load times between holes have literally been cut down to a fifth or less of what they were on the previous version. Way to listen to your money source EA!

Audio - 90
The sound effects are pretty much par for the course (no pun intended), if you're playing on a PS2 that is. With some headphones on, it feels like you're out on the links yourself. Wind blowing, water rushing and birds chirping give it a realistic feeling.

The running commentary has improved also. It's now slightly less annoying when you miss that crucial putt. (Just ask John Daly right?)

Gameplay - 95
This game is deep. It will literally take you hours upon hours to complete and collect everything (785 total pro shop items, 6 course memberships, 4 special golfers and 15 sponsorships). With twelve course and 14 pros to match up against, its like the Snickers ad says "Not going anywhere for a while?"

You have your choice of QuickPlay mode to jump right into a round as usual. Then there's the Multiplayer mode where you can match up Ad-Hoc against someone else within spitting distance for a shootout.

Rivals Mode is where its at. You play through a series of challenges against 14 total pros to win trophies, cash and bragging rights. There are 84 total challenges in here.

Throw in the new "Putting Frenzy" mini-game (where you must sink a certain amount of putts within a certain amount of time) and the Game Face character editor and you've got even more time logged in. And I forgot the "Dream 18" area where you can create your own course from your favorite holes throughout the game.

Controls - 90
This is where EA really listened to their customers. This version is way improved in control of your character. With the new "Analog Putting" control and the revamped analog stick shot control, you'll find yourself so much less frustrated than on the previous version. I've even been able to admit most bad shots were my personal fault this time around. It was hard, but I did it.

Overall - 90
I have absolutely no "buyer's remorse" this time around. It's an amazing feeling. EA is really coming on strong for the PSP lately and I appreciate it. This game and "Burnout Legends" will keep me busy until GTA: LCS comes out and long afterwards as well.

Like Golf? Well, you're going to love this one then. Go buy NOW!!!
