Summary: When I heard about it, and saw the pics I felt

When I heard about it, and saw the pics I felt that I needed it! But I let myself be persuaded by a friend to buy some headphones instead, wich I did. I bought Koss Porta Pro, wich I am really pleased with. But I couldn't keep myself from being drawn to these neat speakers, and I did lack good sound in my apartment. I was worried at first cause even tho it had hi scores on every site I checked, it was still portable speakers and I have no experience with those, except those on my crappy laptop. I feared that they would be the same, like radio quality. Well, I was pleasantly surprised.

I actually got the package home minutes ago and instantly started to caress the product as fast as I got it out of the package. I felt an urge, an almost creepy feeling, that I wanted this. You all know the feeling at Christmas Day (eve in Sweden) when you open that package. Well, I don't want to be a gadgetfreak, but it sure felt good, like I had fulfilled my material needs. But I was also surprised over how small they were, how could they produce good sound? But then, of course, I plugged it into my PSP, which fit like a glove between the small speakers and felt that the totally melted together. Then I tested the sound. I put on a mp3 album; Sparta (punk/rock). At first I didn't get it -- no sound? Well, I heard it really low so I increased the volume quite a bit on the back of the speakers (more on that later). Not near enough. Well, it was easily solved by increasing the volume on the PSP itself and then I got it -- the sound was excellent! It filled the room and was really crisp, and I felt that I was really pleased.

Now, to some things I think could have been better. The volume buttons are on the top/back of the center piece holding the speakers together. If your PSP is in the stand they are hard to reach and see if you want to change volume. And there is no remote, but maybe I'm just asking for too much!

You cannot hold the machine and speakers together (PSP and speakers in your hands) when playing games, but there is a longer cord for you to be able to hold the PSP and letting the speakers stand where they are, playing games and still have the better soundquality from the speakers. But I'm not sure if it's long enough, I have not tried it yet. Same thing with the electrical cord, it's just a few feet, so the position of the speakers are pretty locked. But then again, they are supposed to be portable, which I believe they are (there is a neat bag with it also, that holds all cords but no room for the PSP tho) and I am really happy I got them.

I don't think you need this if you already have a sound system at home, like surround sound or other "real" speakers. But if you travel alot, or lack those pricey alternatives, I believe this is a great product, especially with the price in mind!
