First off, I'm a HUGE pinball fan. I own 2 machines. I also do like playing pinball simulators on PC (although good ones are hard to come by). Now that the credentials are out of the way, on to the review.
You get 2 tables. Both tables are played vertically and are 100% visible. These tables do NOT scroll. What you see is what you get and it's not much. I played each table for about an hour. There really isn't much to do. Hit the ball around, try to knock down some drop targets, shoot another ball. Gets boring very quick. What makes or breaks a pinball game is the ball "physics". This was very frustrating. The ball just loves to fly around at 100 MPH then fly down the drain. The other thing I noticed was everything resets after each ball. You get 5 out of 6 targets or rollovers and lose the ball, too bad, start over.
I read somewhere that they took actual pinball sounds. Well, you wouldn't know it. Nothing in the sound department stood out at all. The background music was ok. At least it didn't get on my nerves.
To be fair there is also a time attack mode that was kind of fun for a while. The game keeps launching balls every 5 seconds and for every ball you keep in play the score multiplier goes up 1 X. 5 balls in play = 5 X everything you hit. You have a time limit of 1:30 to rack up as many points as possible.
Overall
Not enough tables
Ball physics need work
Sound is nothing special
Music is good
After about 2 hours, you probably won't play it again
Time attack mode is not enough to save this game. Would not recommend.
Isn't there another pinball coming out for PSP that has 10 or so real pinball tables simulated? I will wait for that one. I love pinball and am sorry to see it fading away.. games like this sure don't sound like they help.
