This game uses the D-pad as the directional device. The Analog nub is used as a sort of view pitch. I would have very much preferred the nub to be a directional device as well. Given this your mobile suit is easily controlled. You have four types of attacks: A physical attack (Triangle) which consists of mainly using your beam sword, your main artillery attack (Cricle), your secondary artillery attack (Square), and then your special (Circle + Triangle when your special meter is full). You can also jump with the X button. Considering this is a Japanese import the menu's are easily navigated.

There are three modes: Mission mode (basically a story mode) in which you can choose to side with the Zeon or the E.F.S.F., then select your gender. It is very interesting to go through the campaign as you see your created character climb up in rank (i.e. privte to privat first class) and in stats. There is also a Vs. mode which include a single player and a multiplayer (no infrastruce mode though). As you advance through the missions you unlock bigger and better mobile suits.

The graphics are splendid. As would be expected with most mech games the mobile suits are perfectly detailed and faithfully reproduced from the original anime. Although I do have some gripes. There seems to be some jagged edges here and there and every now and again a mountain seems to be invisible.

[header=3]Sound[/b] - 70
The music is fine for awhile but then seems to gets repetitive over time. The reason for a higher scoring sound is the great sound effects. You know exactly what shots are being fired and from where in this game.

[header=4]Load Times[/b] - 80
The load times aren't bad at all. Mostly only about 5-10 seconds per mission.

[header=5]Overall[/b] - 81.25
This game has been in my PSP since the day I got it and keep coming back for more. The mission mode supplies a great challenge while the versus mode provides a nice break from the rigid rules of missions. It's nice being able to play as my favourite mobile suit (I use to construct the models) and just pound any opossing mobile suit. I would highly recommend this game for any Mobile Suit Gundam fan or those who want a good mech game.
